Whirlpool Electronic Control Board
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10597042

This Electronic Control Board is the appliance's central control module. It interprets inputs from sensors and switches and directs power to motors, valves, heaters, and fans to run cycles reliably when the original board has failed.

  • Manages overall operation by processing signals and executing programmed cycles
  • Sends power/commands to components such as motors, pumps, fans, heaters, and valves
  • Typical symptoms of a failed board: no power or won't start, unresponsive controls, cycles that won't advance, intermittent shutdowns, or error codes
  • Useful when diagnostics point to control failure after ruling out fuses, switches, sensors, and wiring
What's included: 1 electronic control board Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; turn off water supply if applicable
  • Use ESD protection and handle the board by its edges
  • Photograph/label all connectors; move harnesses one at a time and transfer any jumpers/settings from the old board if present
  • Mount securely, reconnect wiring, reassemble, then run the unit's diagnostic/self-test per the service manual

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher wasn't drying or heating water   Berit A. • Stafford , VA • November 27, 2015

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Whirpool dishwasher would not dry (heat)   Ray T. • Gallaton , TN • June 16, 2015

There are 4 things that have to do with the working of the heating element in this dishwasher (assuming everything else is working). 1) The heating element itself, 2) the high-temp. thermal limit switch (sometimes called the thermostat), 3) the wiring from the heating element back to the control unit in the door, and 4) the control unit. I replaced the heating element and that did not fix the drying problem. The high-temp. thermal limit thermostat checked good, with continuity at room... Read more
