This water inlet valve controls the flow of water into the dishwasher during wash and rinse cycles. It opens and closes electronically based on signals from the control board to allow the correct amount of water to enter the tub. Replace this valve if the dishwasher is not filling with water, filling too slowly, leaking from underneath, or if water continues to enter the tub when the cycle is off.

Changed inlet valve super easy on my whirlpool dishwasher took the front kick panel off turned off water and electricity the valve was right out front bottom left one small sheet metal screw held it on disconnected plug and 5/8 water line and hose with clamp for fill to tub just reverse for install of new valve
