• Timer will not advance

My dryer would only start (and keep running) after a lot of fiddling with the timer to find a position that "worked." The machine wouldn't turn on when the timer was set in the dry-sensor region, and eventually, it stayed running only when we pressed the timer button. As soon as the pressure was off, the dryer stopped. Clearly that wasn't sustainable. Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... Washing machine should have been an easy fix that I had done before but ran into problems with the upper bearing and the bearing diameter on the shaft (a no go situation). By the time I was able to get the bearing seated I had damaged the new bearing. Much to my surprise Cierra in customer service sent me out a new bearing kit. I removed the kick panel/door and confirmed there was no flame. Inspection with a flashlight revealed the igniter was damage - partly broken away. Using a 1/4" socket set I removed the burner assembly. Inspection showed the burner was rusted and the flame deflector had fallen off. I ordered both the "Dryer Igniter and Bracket" and a burner. I checked the continuity on the thermal fuse (which was blown) and knew that it needed to be replaced. This made me question why it blew (i.e. what caused it to fail). I checked continuity on the thermostat (high limit) as well as the thermostat for the element. Both passed a continuity test, so I removed the high limit thermostat to inspect it and could hear it rattling inside. The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. This melt-then-freeze would happen, to the extent the chute froze to its own closure. Despite service technician visits over a period of six years nothing they did resolved the issue. Every time I tried to start our dryer, the "Sensing Light" came on, I heard a little "click," and the dryer would not start. According to the very helpful Appliance Parts Pros. videos, I was able to dismantle, diagnose a few components, and discover the broken part. In this case, it was a Broken Belt Switch. Valve (or a component on it) was slowly leaking gas. I was able to easily replace the entire gas assembly with this order. Item was mostly pre-assembled, and contained all parts needed, including new igniter and coils. Read more

• Noisy

We opened the dryer up with help from the videos on your site, and came to the conclusion that the rear drum-support rollers needed to be replaced. We thought the front bearing and seal looked a little past-it as well, so we ordered that and a new bearing ring to go with it, and a new dryer belt (just so we wouldn't have to get back into it again any time soon).
