This is a combined touchpad and control panel assembly in black that mounts on the front of the dishwasher door. It houses the buttons used to select wash cycles, options, and start/cancel functions, and it communicates your selections to the main electronic control board. Replace this part if buttons are unresponsive, the display is blank or flickering, or the dishwasher does not respond to cycle selections.
I ordered a new Panel-Control. The old one was removed easily by taking out six screws. The old panel lifted, then tilted out. The electronic circuit board was disconnected and attached to the new panel. My new panel did not want to fit in properly at first. Took off the the front panel. First removed the knobs, then the four screws above each knob stem. With oven door open removed four screws under the front door oven panel. Last removed the two side screws on the oven control. Keeping hold of the front unit. Then removed the pigtail attached to the panel and the ground screw. Now the unit is detached. Replacing the switch membrane restored full function. Relatively easy. Had to pull stove out just a few inches to provide access to two side screws holding control enclosure. Then four screws on bottom edge just above oven door. Then a screw above each burner control. And one screw on the top edge at each corner (right screw additionally holding a ground wire). This is the front-facing control panel assembly that houses the touchpad buttons used to select wash cycles and options on the dishwasher door. It mounts to the outer door and connects to the electronic control board behind it.
