This long front panel replaces a damaged or worn control-area panel to restore the range's appearance and provide a secure mounting surface for control components. It fits the long control area used on select GE ranges. What it does:

- Provides the mounting surface and alignment for control switches and trim

I had to replace the outer door panel, the metal part of the door, bottom 3/4 that attaches to the controls panel.
The hardest part was removing the screws in the hinge, since you need gorilla strength to pull it downward while removing the mounting screws that connect the door to the hinge. The metal was broken completely, so the hinge was in the closed position.
I used a regular phillips screwdriver and a newer version of a cross between a phillips and an allen wrench. It's got a hexagon...
