My GE dryer from the late 80's/early 90's was squealing when it would start up, belt or bearing I was thinking. I found a manual online that covered my model and I watched a video on this site that showed me how to take it all apart, mine was a bit different but the principles were the same. I took it apart and added some quick-disconnects to 2 wires so next time I can take the front panel off easily. Ordered conversion kit from Appliance Parts Pros.com and installed it myself. Most difficult part of the repair, was the removal of the front casing of the dryer to access the location of venturi tube to be changed out. The instructions were helpful, but not specific enough for my dryer. Once the casing was off, the job was not too difficult - you will need a set of short screwdrivers to remove the burner flange and close the pressure adjustment screw, normal length screw drivers will come into... I found a few videos on YouTube about other dryers that gave me enough information to figure out my own. I was able to pull out the heater element and replace it with a new one that arrived the day after I purchased it. I also replaced the thermal fuse and thermostat. Read more

Easy fix, first I unplugged the dryer. Then removed the 6 Philips head screws on head unit back panel. Photographed wiring on timer. Removed the 1 torx screw holding the timer assy in place, the front panel knob was already off, would no longer stay on. Removed the wires from the timer assy, removed the timer, replaced it with new one, reinstalled torx screw. Reattached the wires to the positions removed from. Saw a video on line. Looked fairly easy to replace, but there were quite a few steps. I followed the video step for step and had the motor out in less than an hour. Tested motor with an electrical tester, just to be sure that was the problem. I ordered the motor from Appliance Parts Pros on a Sunday evening. The motor was at my doorstep Tuesday morning. I have an LG dryer purchased in 2007. Model: DLE9577SM. It was squeaking at start-up and rumbling a little. I checked out a few youtube videos on trouble shooting a gas dryer that would not heat, like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8j6fQM3P34. Eliminated all the sensors as possible problems, leaving only the coils or more advanced problems. Took the chance it was one of the coils. I ordered both, replaced them both, put the dryer back together and fortunately that was the problem and it lit up and is running as good as new. Read more

A few months back I changed out the "Bearing Slides" on the front side of the drum thinking that would stop the annoying squeaking every time we use the dryer. They were very worn and one was missing. But to my dismay it only lessened it by about 10%. After doing a bit more research I discovered the "Rear Shaft Bracket Assembly" also needed replacement. I called a repairman and he wanted $230 to put in a new timer so I went online to Appliance Parts Pros.com and found the part and watched video on how to replace timer. The timer cost $89 and I received it in 2 days. It took about 3 minutes to replace and my dryer works great! Read more

I am so blessed. I went online. Found the brackets. Watch the video for the brackets I chose. And lucky me. I did not have to pull the dishwasher out. The installer did not have it flush under the counter. So I was able to pull the dishwasher forward unhook the damage brackets and insert the new. Put the dishwasher back in. Two screws. Now the balanced and secure dishwasher washes better than ever and I did not have to pay an extraordinary fee for a repairman. I'm 68 and take care of a 72 year... Read more

Found a video on UTube on how to dissamble the dryer. It was striaght forward and helpful. In the process I found an unusal amount of lint in the pipe from the dryer to the vent pipe to the outside It was nearly blocked about 10" up the pipe.. Read more
