The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. Ordered conversion kit from Appliance Parts Pros.com and installed it myself. Most difficult part of the repair, was the removal of the front casing of the dryer to access the location of venturi tube to be changed out. The instructions were helpful, but not specific enough for my dryer. For several months we could smell a slight odor of propane in the laundry room and wondered why, just didn't seem like it was enough to be overly concerned, but thought something must be wrong with the dryer, but it was still working. • Marks left on clothes

After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear. I did, however, find that the drum had some up and down play in it. After closer inspection, I could see that the front drum seal was actually worn to the point that I could see a gap between the seal and the drum. I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. • Door won't close

I chatted with a rep on Appliance Parts Pros and found out which parts I needed for my model of dryer. Ordered the 2 clips that held the door closed. They arrived the next day!! My dryer was very different than the video but we were able to figure out which screws to remove. The old clips popped out and the new ones popped in. Took about 30 minutes because of there being a top and bottom clip to remove and replace and line up the door parts to screw the screws back in. It works great!! I... Read more

Ordered new timer and knob unplugged it , switched wires over to the new one changed it out put back together and plugged it back up and was good as new . Read more
