Dryer Parts

By reading the forums I first thought it may be the thermostat. I bypassed the thermostat wiring and the dryer still turned off after a few second of running. The second check was for the door switch. I couldn't find an explanation of how to bypass, so I just ordered a new one to try. It worked. Read more

After taking off the top and front panels to access the drum, it was easy to see what the problem was. The front drum support was worn through and the 3 drum support glides were gone. The rear drum bearing was also completely worn out. And while I had the dryer apart I also replaced the idler pulley and drive belt. The only hard part was putting the drive belt back on the motor shaft and idler pulley. The dryer is back to drying clothes like a new machine. Read more

My Electrolux Frigidaire Gas Dryer stopped working and I got an error code E66 that the thermal limiter blew from over heating. The E66 code stops displaying after the initial code and you will then get a door open message. I replaced the thermal limiter and the thermostat just to be sure which part at the problem. The job is hard because you have to take apart the entire dryer and remove the drum. Would be a tough project to complete on your own. Read more

If your LG Front load washers sounds like a freight train, STOP USING IT. You're doing more damage and will need more parts to fix it. After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before. Https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/125631-1.pdf has the details to disassemble the dryer to access the vent part that cost apx$28. 1.5 hrs and some patience along with a screw driver and players was alll it took to to remove the cover, control panel, front cover, drum, belt, gas line and manifold assembly, flame tube? And rear drum panel in order to replace worn part. Reassembled in 15minutes to clean and vacuumed dryer. Works great now. Read more

Tested the old t-stat with ohm meter. When shaken, the contacts would open. Replaced it with new t-stat and it works fine now. Thanks! Read more

This was a friends dryer. They'd been quoted a $200 call out fee and after taking with them on the phone were also told they could have the dryer taken away for $150. I told my friends that inwould fix it. I used a multimeter to check the thermostats, heaterbelement and funrion dial. I found 2 bad thermostats. Replaced the tension pulley assembly, drum rollers, drum roller axles, belt, and drum glides while I had the dryer disassembled. It turned out that the cause of the squeak was the tension pulley assembly, however it was easy and economical enough to replace anything that could have been the cause of the squeaking while I had the dryer apart. Removed exterior panels, cleaned all venting, replaced outlet thermistor and thermostat. Pressure washed all removable parts. Reassembled. Now working as it should. Read more
