Maintains belt tension in your dryer drum system. Replace if the pulley wheel is worn, cracked, seized, or the tensioner arm is bent or broken.
From watching the video I got the general idea, disassemble 50% of the dryer. Only had 2 differences in my dryer from the one used in the video, so the video was helpful. The one difference was the connections to the front side of the dryer were on the power distribution circuit board located on the left of the dryer under a sheet metal cover. These were harder to disconnect with my fat thumbs. The bigger issue was with removing the front control panel. In the video there doesn't appear to be... Read more
Replacement drum support roller for dryers. Mounts on the drum frame to support and guide the drum as it rotates. Replace if cracked, worn, or damaged.
I watched videos on the disassembly of my dryer model, and got the model number hiding on the upper dryer door jamb. After calling AppliancePartsPros.com for help, then ordered parts with the help of APP. It took almost a full day to disassemble the dryer I have, as it is a little more complicated than some models, and I went very slowly on purpose to not lose screws, or break plastic parts. Getting the wiring harness apart was the hardest thing to do, as the screwdriver shown in the video... Read more
Dryer won't heat? This thermal cut-off kit prevents overheating by interrupting power to the heating element. Common DIY fix with basic tools in 1 hour.
I am not an electrician, just a housewife with limited funds and a desire to DIY. I used the provided videos for knowing how to replace everything except the heating element which I just guessed based on other reviews and seeing how the other parts worked. Our dryer is 11 years old Whirlpool Gold HE and I have only ever cleaned the lint tray. My husband replaced the belt about five years ago and he did clean out the inside of the dryer. Started by ordering a thermal fuse because it was... Read more
Dryer won't start or overheats? A faulty thermostat often causes these issues. This thermal cutoff part regulates temperature safely. DIY fix in 30-50 min.
You can do this! Although an Art Director by trade, I like working with my hands. I’m adept at working with tools and following instructions. In today’s disposable society, I prefer fixing things. That said, this has to be the easiest repair I’ve ever attempted with the largest cost-savings versus hiring a professional. My brand new dryer had been in use fewer than six months (average 6 loads per week) when suddenly the dryer would not heat. The drum would spin, there were no error codes, and... Read more
Connects the motor to the drum so it can tumble. Replace if the drum won't spin, makes squealing noises, or clothes aren't drying. Confirm fit by model number.
I disassembled/reassembled the dryer according to the ApplianceParts Youtube video. With my limited electrical knowledge (just enough to be dangerous) I initially figured it was a problem with the heating unit, sensor(s), or the control board. After diagnosing the problem (bad thermistor), I had to order the parts and was able to repair and reassemble the dryer several days later. After removing the drum, I cleaned all the dust etc. out of the inside (it gets dirty in there!) and inspected,... Read more
Houses the lint filter to capture debris during drying. Replace if cracked, causing clothes to snag or tear. Confirm fit with your model number.
I replaced the warped cover guide and the lint filter. Now it works perfect! Sears was going to charge $100 just to diagnose the well known problem, not including parts and labor. It only requires 4 screws(i used the old ones). Easy fix. Read more
Dryer won't start or stops mid-cycle? A worn drive motor is often the cause. This motor turns the drum and circulates air. Moderate DIY repair.
My 12 year old Kenmore dryer problem started about 3 years ago with the motor just stopping. My thing was: I would turn it off and turn the drum by hand about halfway around and it would work again. Last month, my wife said it stopped again and its making a loud noise, but when I did "my thing" it still made a loud squealing noise (like I was killing a mouse). I made time to work on it the next day, I took it apart, using the video instructions from AppliancePartsPros, I removed the top,... Read more
Supports and allows smooth drum rotation in your dryer. Replace if you hear squealing, grinding, or rattling noises during operation. Verify fit with your model.
I found a video on Youtube which described dryer drum squeaks as most likely caused by a worn rear drum bearing. I located the model number on the inside lip of the dryer door: Frigidaire Affinity LEQ6000ES2. I googled "frigidaire affinity dryer squeak". I got a link for my friends at AppliancePartsPros.com! I've used Appliance PartsPros 3 times before, so I figured I was in a "one-stop-solution" situation. I ordered a rear drum bearing kit as well as a dryer drum belt (after nearly 7 years... Read more
This dryer drum belt connects the motor to the drum for proper rotation. Replace when the drum won't spin or makes squealing sounds. Verify fit by model number.
I watched your initial video which gave me some insight into the repair. I removed power from the dryer and positioned it for maintenance. Since my dryer was a Maytag, I needed to remove to two front bottom Phillips screws from the front panel of the dryer prior to pulling the panel and door assy. from the unit. The top of the dryer now needs to be removed. Two screws, one on each side holds the top of the dryer in place accessible from within and under the top of the dryer. Once those two... Read more
Dryer not heating or producing warmth? This heating element assembly restores heat output. Moderate DIY repair, takes 1-2 hours. Includes thermostats.
This has been posted on my Facebook (but can't tag AppliancePartsPros) titled "As My Husband Slept!" =( Each dash represents a caption in each post. - Nice try taking a few days off! Your vacation days, or hours, are numbered ?? - Step 1: Removed 2 screws from the back. So far so good! - (after removing the top of the dryer) Wow! I'm so proud of myself ????? - (after the front panel was removed) Step 2: Remove the front panel as instructed by the guy on the video ?? ... I think I'm going to be... Read more
Rear drum bearing kit supports and smoothly rotates your dryer drum. Replace when you hear squealing, screeching, or grinding noises. Verify fit with your model.
Repair went well, replaced the pulley wheel, belt, rear drum bearing. Had an issue after replacement with the dryer stopping after ~5mins or so when running with heat. Fluff cycle would run fine. Details: The lock nut on the pulley wheel didn't feel tight enough so i tried to crimp it back on the pulley arm. It then became way too lose. I had to replace it with a plastic washer I had in my toolkit. That fit snug and seems to work fine. I also added some grease to the pulley shaft under... Read more
Replace your dryer drum belt if the drum won't turn or makes squealing noises. Essential for rotating the drum during drying cycles. Verify fit by model.
I replaced the belt, belt tension pulley, both dryer drum roller axles and both drum support rollers. Although I bought 2 tumbler bearing kits, because those still look good I am saving them for when they go bad. The videos were fantastic! I also took pictures as I went of wiring so there would be no question where things went when reassembling. It should be noted some models have extra terminals near the sensor terminals... just be aware and look closely/take pics as you are taking things... Read more
Dryer door won't close or stay latched? This door latch kit restores secure closure. Easy 15-minute DIY repair with common tools. Video guide included.
When I looked up the part number there was a handy video that popped up. I watched the video and thought "how easy!" so, I ordered that part and waited. The next day, I thought I better start to take the door off of my dryer (because that's what the video instructed, and I wanted a head start) so as I was going into the garage to get my tools, my son came in with a small package. It was the part. That came, to quote another customer, "Crazy Fast!" All the way from Kentucky to California! ... Read more
Washer won't start or stops mid-cycle? A faulty lid lock assembly prevents operation. Moderately difficult DIY repair—installation video available.
The part is so new no video so I went onto a similar part and watched video that got me about 80%. Then, called and customer service sent me a service Manual but this still was not specific so I broke the old to get it out and in the process figured out how to do it correctly. So I installed the last bit of it which was the bezel through the machine top by myself correctly. So you take the old one out by pushing out to the right from the bottom side using a screw driver for leverage. It will... Read more
Supports and allows the dryer drum to rotate smoothly. Replace when roller bearing seizes, develops flat spots, or shows wear causing noise or drag.
I first researched on AppliancePartsPros.com the availability of parts. It looked like all common parts were in stock ready to ship. I also found that APP had several helpful videos to show how to take apart the dryer and replace the parts. Other research indicated the most common problem is the drum rollers, but after seeing the videos I determined that not only the rollers but also the tensioner pulley could be bad and the belt too. So I bought all of these parts because I did not want to... Read more
Seals the rear drum edge to contain hot air and improve drying efficiency. Replace if worn, torn, or causing noise. Confirm fit with your model number.
Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. I can say AppliancePartsPros is MUCH cheaper for the identical Whirlpool genuine part. While changing the ignitor, I noticed there was an excessive amount of lint in the dryer, which was caused by worn drum seals. I ordered... Read more
