I found a video on Youtube which described dryer drum squeaks as most likely caused by a worn rear drum bearing. I located the model number on the inside lip of the dryer door: Frigidaire Affinity LEQ6000ES2. I googled "frigidaire affinity dryer squeak". I got a link for my friends at AppliancePartsPros.com! From watching the video I got the general idea, disassemble 50% of the dryer. Only had 2 differences in my dryer from the one used in the video, so the video was helpful. The one difference was the connections to the front side of the dryer were on the power distribution circuit board located on the left of the dryer under a sheet metal cover. I replaced the warped cover guide and the lint filter. Now it works perfect! Sears was going to charge $100 just to diagnose the well known problem, not including parts and labor. It only requires 4 screws(i used the old ones). Easy fix. Read more

I watched your initial video which gave me some insight into the repair. I removed power from the dryer and positioned it for maintenance. Since my dryer was a Maytag, I needed to remove to two front bottom Phillips screws from the front panel of the dryer prior to pulling the panel and door assy. from the unit. I replaced the belt, belt tension pulley, both dryer drum roller axles and both drum support rollers. Although I bought 2 tumbler bearing kits, because those still look good I am saving them for when they go bad. The videos were fantastic! I also took pictures as I went of wiring so there would be no question where things went when reassembling. A thumping sound (like sneakers in the dryer) started happening. We stopped using it so that it wouldn't get worse and potentially break more parts. Online research suggested rear drive shaft would be the problem. But also suggested while we have the dryer apart, would be smart to replace the belt and the slides/glides (green and white plastic tabs in front, attached to the door). Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. This was by far the EASIEST repair I have ever done. All I had to do was remove the broken knob, the back panel and disconnect the old timer. I then connected the new, put it in place, and replaced the knob. After a test run, I put the panel back on and have been doing laundry since! Read more

The part is so new no video so I went onto a similar part and watched video that got me about 80%. Then, called and customer service sent me a service Manual but this still was not specific so I broke the old to get it out and in the process figured out how to do it correctly. So I installed the last bit of it which was the bezel through the machine top by myself correctly. Repair went well, replaced the pulley wheel, belt, rear drum bearing. Had an issue after replacement with the dryer stopping after ~5mins or so when running with heat. Fluff cycle would run fine. Details: The lock nut on the pulley wheel didn't feel tight enough so i tried to crimp it back on the pulley arm. It then became way too lose. When I looked up the part number there was a handy video that popped up. I watched the video and thought "how easy!" so, I ordered that part and waited. The next day, I thought I better start to take the door off of my dryer (because that's what the video instructed, and I wanted a head start) so as I was going into the garage to get my tools, my son came in with a small package. Found the entire top bearing support plastic piece was completely worn through, the bearing slides had all disappeared some time ago. So it was obviously the problem. The felt trap duct (which is actually a drum seal along bottom front of drum so I don't know why they call it felt trap duct) had also disappeared, so a lot of lint was getting inside the front panel too.
