Bought a new home with microwave venting into kitchen. Ordered damper assembly needed to vent through the wall to the outside. Removed microwave, followed directions in original installation instructions, turned fan over, cut hole in wall, installed wall cap and replaced oven. Problem solved. Read more

It is difficult (if not impossible) to remove the electronic switches from the hard plastic latches. I replaced all three switches and both the upper and lower latches I also replaced the main 20 amp ceramic fuse which blew out when the latch/switches failed. Read more

My dishwasher quit cleaning dishes and lost all pressure. The food screen would keep clogging up and I would have to take it out and clean it by hand. After putting a new impeller in, the "gears" on the impeller connected with the screen blades, the old impeller the "gears" were stripped off. I hated to call a repair Guy, because by the time it takes them to do the service call and then order the part, then schedule another appointment. It would be at least two weeks. First, DO NOT call Sears for parts, their call center knows nothing about the product. App-Pros are the best for help and the right parts. Dropped light panel by removing two screws with socket set. Unplugged two terminals and unclipped the light socket from the base. Then just clipped the new socket onto the base, plugged the connectors onto the terminals and remounted the base. Total job was less than 15 minutes. Read more

Whirlpool microwave model MH8150XJQ-0 manufactured May 2002. The outer door frame and vent grill became brittle, developed cracks and breaks with little pieces around the screws falling off... that sort of thing. It's over 20 years old so no complaints. The rest of the microwave is fine and since it's mounted over the stovetop, I don't want to deal with measuring, selecting, removing, installing, etc. when this one still works. The odor in the dishwasher was due to scum buildup in the walls, the racks, and in the lower part of the drain below the lower rotating arm. One of the valves in the vertical tube was stuck in the open position; since the valves cannot be replaced, the entire tube needed replacement. The check valve probably needed no replacement, but once I opened the bottom part, I decided to replace it anyway. Ordered the parts and followed the instruction videos that Sears provide, Initially tried to order parts from Sears directly but the web-page kept complaining about my shipping address. Their loss- no wonder they're going out of business. Also, should note that the original assembly was plastic but the replacement was metal. Sure sign of a crappy cost-cutting decision.
