The Ice Container Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators that stores ice made by the ice maker. It includes the container, auger for ice dispensing, and other mechanisms for storage and dispensing.
A bad Ice Container Assembly can result from container cracks or damage, causing ice spills, auger wear affecting dispensing, blockages halting ice movement, and parts wear hindering efficient ice dispensing.
Symptoms of a malfunctioning Ice Container Assembly include:
The drive blade has come off of the drum and the auger. When I try to dispense ice and the auger rotates, the drive blade does not rotate with it. Hence, the drive blade was not pushing ice into the drum (and into the ice crusher housing and dispense chute). Apparently, the hole of the drive blade was no longer "biting" the auger so that it will rotate with it. I did not know how to re-attach the drive blade back to the auger (short of welding it). So I ordered the Ice Container Assy. Took out... Read more

This is an ice bin that is used on refrigerator and freezer units. The purpose of this part is to store the ice that has already been made so that it is ready for dispensing. The auger is included with this part, which is the component that drives the ice out of the freezer for dispensing. Over time, the white plastic material that the bin is made of may begin to crack or break due to exposure to extreme temperatures over time. If this is the case, it will need to be replaced. If the auger no longer functions, it could have become damaged and this part will also replace the auger itself. Wear work gloves when replacing this part. This ice bin is compatible with refrigerator and freezer units that have been manufactured by Kenmore Elite, Kenmore Pro, Kenmore, and Frigidaire. It is sold individually. This part is sourced directly from the manufacturer.

The Ice Auger Drive Bar is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It plays an important role in allowing the icemaker assembly to function properly by transmitting rotational force from the motor to the ice auger. Without a properly functioning drive bar, ice cubes may not be dispensed as needed. Please Note: The nut is no longer separate. It is now part of this drive bar.
Causes of a bad ice auger drive bar can include wear and tear from frequent use, damage due to heavy ice loads, or corrosion from moisture exposure. A malfunctioning drive bar can result in inefficient ice dispensing or complete failure of the ice dispensing mechanism.
Symptoms of a bad drive bar include:
This Frigidaire OEM replacement part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and some Kenmore models.
My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. All appeared fine then two days later the ice dispenser stopped. I watched a couple of videos and most pointed to the ice auger motor. One video specifically said you... Read more
