General Electric Microwave Parts

Went to Appliance Pros and found the part for my microwave. Web site was very easy to use. Ordered the thermal fuse and it was delivered in 2 days. Shipping was a a bit expensive, but can't complain with two day delivery. Replaced the failed part and the microwave now works great. It 1 1/2 hours, but I took my time. I removed the plastic plate at the top of the microwave (behind the door) by unscrewing two screws with a screwdriver. I then pulled out the old filter, and placed the new one in the designated area. No tools are needed to insert the filter....just a screwdriver to remove/replace the plastic plate. Very simple. Read more

Replaced the "Encoder Board". My GE Advantium control panel came of fairly easily. There was 2 screws on top to remove a vent director giving access to a single screw that held the control panel in place. Once I removed that screw, I had to slide the control panel upwards by about 1/2" before it came off. Wife let me know the microwave was making grinding noise while I was in garage fixing her car starter, never a dull moment. Further questioning she also said it wan't heating the food. Due to being an odd sized built in $$ unit I had to have repaired. I was getting quotes in the $4-500 range for just the magnetron. I was pretty confident the magnetron was the issue and also ordered a new capacitor and diode since I was going to be in there and a lot of money ahead repairing myself. About... Read more

Bought a new ring from appliance parts pros and lifted the turn table plate out, pulled the broken rotating ring assembly and inserted the new part. Very easy to do and now every thing works great. Read more

When our turntable stopped rotating, I would hear a clicking sound each time I used our microwave, like something was not properly engaging in order to turn the glass tray. Even though our microwave was 10 years old, everything else worked fine. I contacted Appliance Parts Pros, and told them what the problem was and what it was doing. They sent me an email with the parts number needed to complete the repair. This was a built in a cabinet unit and I required help removing it and reinstalling it. The repair was relative easy once I had the parts and it took approximately four hours,. Got the model number of my GE microwave and found the glass turntable plate part number that would fit it. Ordered the part from appliancepartpros.com. Plate arrived a couple of days later. Set it on the turner sprocket in the microwave and it worked great. Read more

• Tray won't turn

Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor. Their is a tab that holds it in while the motor is in place. If you pry it up you will break it, trust me. ;) Turn the motor out of its housing and it come right out.... Read more
