I ordered a new arm kit from AP Pro. I watched the video..easy repair. The arm spin jets were plugged just like the video said. The old washer was also worn. The new arm (genuine GE) had redesigned spin jets, they added two more. I ordered on a weekend, the order was filled on Monday and it was at my door at noon on Tuesday! I didn't do any special shipping. Excellent video, shockingly fast delivery. Amazon Prime (I am a member) would be jealous, and AP Pro has excellent videos. Read more

Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?". At first I planned to just buy a new dishwasher, this one wasn't working THAT well, and it didn't seem like it would be worth the effort to fix it. I looked at the cost of a new dishwasher and decided to give fixing it a go. I took the old part out (the wrong way) and discovered that there was a lot gunk build up in it--no wonder it wasn't working very well. I got on Appliancepartspros, found the part I needed, watched the video that showed exactly how to take the old part out and put the... Read more

This lower arm spray is sold individually and is sourced directly from the manufacturer. This dispenser is a genuine OEM part.
Removed and cleaned plastic filter strainers (located in the bottom rear of the dish compartment) that was packed with sediment. In doing so I found the filter gasket assembly badly deteriorating (rubber coming apart with the simplest of touch). While trying to remove the filter gasket, I broke the lower spray arm assembly due to the plastic being brittle. (Unit is over 10 years old!) Then, while ordering parts, I read that the Piston & Nut assembly is the typical cause of the condition I was... Read more

This mounting nut secures the tower heater assembly in the appliance, keeping the heater stable and properly positioned for safe, efficient operation. Replacing a damaged nut restores secure attachment and reduces rattling or loose components. What it does
This was not an obvious source of a leak. The Tower Heater Assembly Nut developed a crack over time due to heat exposure. So the leak was gradual slowly getting worse over time. It was a hairline crack that ran down one of the edges of the nut making it hard to see. In talking to a pro he said it isn't a common problem. It is all the way in the back of the bottom of the dishwasher so it is not something you can see without pulling the dishwasher out and running it. The repair itself is easy. I... Read more
