Before buying a new ($1200) washer, I found the trouble shooting guide and decided to check if my problem was a simple fix or a complicated procedure... turns out it was the simple fix. Removing the agitator was the hardest part, it lifted straight up, but took some muscle and a belt for leverage. Then I had to remove one bolt, lift off the damaged part, and put the new part on with the one bolt. Done. Works perfectly. Read more

The machine stopped working with a bang. There were chunks of large metal at the bottom. The drive plate had rusted through. My first step was to put a rag in the tub drain hole and save the pump. Except for grinding/chiseling off a frozen-corroded-rusty solid mass. The repair was rather easy. A couple of channel lock wrenches and a hammer didn't budge it. I replaced the water level switch and hose. After removing the hose, I found that it was clogged, and did not allow the water level to be sensed by the switch. A test after the replacement of the parts was successful. While filling the tub, the water shut off at the small, medium, and large levels as indicated by the switch. Read more

I reseached these error codes and compared them to others problems. After deciding that I was gonna order the part and fix it myself I was at ease to find out it took 10min to fix! And it actually worked! The washer was pausing during cycles, cloths were soaking wet, spin cycle only worked on drain and spin at the end of the Ioad (it would spin slowly otherwise), soap dispenser still had the soap in it or it would be filled with water after the cycle was over. I removed the dial knob and plate as instructed by the video, removed the front panel of the washer to access the switch. I found the plastic molded bracket that the timer rests on to be broken and the tab on the timer where it is attached by a screw to be broken. I ordered a replacement switch, dial and knob. Washer would run through the cycle, but not agitate. I had to wait for it to pump down the water level to check spin, which also was not working. The motor would buzz when it should run, but not rotate, hard to hear for spin because the pump was running. Found I could start it by hand very easily by giving the pulley a spin, so I figured start switch, but there didn't appear to be one. All I had to do was remove 3, 1/4" screws from the back and take the front off. Two 5/16th screws hold the circuit board in place, remove them and press the button into the hole from the back. Replace the circuit board, slide the front back on and install the three 1/4" screws. Always unplug the washer first! Read more

I drained the pump and removed coins etc from pump drain screen. This did not solve the problem, so I called Slagers, our local appliance store in Iowa City. The repair man came out two days later in the AM.
