The Monitor Switch is an OEM replacement part for GE microwave ovens. Located internally on the turntable control circuit board, this switch monitors rotation of the turntable during cooking cycles.
Causes of failure involve degradation of the electrical contacts from continuous arcing loads over years of use combined with vibration stresses.
Symptoms of a faulty monitor switch include:
This genuine GE switch is also compatible with select Hotpoint and RCA models.
The first symptom was our microwave would continue to run after the time was up. The light would go out, the turn table would stop but you could still hear the microwave running and whatever was in it would continue to cook. The only way to stop it was to open the door. It was intermittent at first but eventually it would always run no matter what as long as the door was closed. Several other posts referenced these switches as the problem. I just replaced both and problem gone. It turns out... Read more
White plastic door handle for dryer doors. Snaps into place on the front panel. Replace your cracked, broken, or missing handle for easier door operation.
My husband found the exact handle we needed to replace the one on our dryer at AppliancePartsPros.com and we ordered it. When it came, we replaced it. I know this sounds like a simple story, but honestly, it's much more. For weeks, this broken dryer handle was driving me crazy. Finally, my husband realized that AppliancePartsPros would likely have the part--and they did. We ordered the part on a weekend and got it on Monday. I couldn't believe it. We think this place is awesome. In the... Read more
Dishwasher tub gasket creates a watertight seal between the tub and door. Replace if you notice water leaking or steam escaping. Confirm fit by model.
All parts arrived in one box - I purchased the tub gasket, lower door gasket and lower door seal. My existing parts were visibly pretty worn out, dishwasher is 12 years old (maybe should have just bought anew one?). Tub gasket was pretty easy, it took me a while to make sure it was even all the way around, after attest run and the subsequent drying heat it fits nicely. Lower door seal went as video, all good, my other one was destroyed from the heat cycles. Could not get the lower door seal... Read more
Fix a washer that won't drain or leaves standing water. This drain pump removes used water from the tub. DIY repair takes about 15-30 minutes.
I replaced the belt and the pump. It now works like it is new again! I am glad that I purchased the belt installation tool. It made replacing the belt very easy. I also purchased the Control Assembly which I did not install. It wasn't needed to repair the washer but I will keep it in case it is needed for future repairs. Of the 3 different web sites I looked at, AppliancePartsPros was the best price and the parts were at my house in 2 days. I will use AppliancePartsPros again if and when I need... Read more

Removing the bottom panel and watching the internals while the washer was running revealed a small drip from what appeared to be a plastic cam that was attached to a solenoid. The water was dripping from the shaft the cam attached to down into the solenoid. Being a DIY guy I pulled the washer out, turned it upside down and inspected the effected mechanism. It appeared that there was a seal on the shaft that was leaking. The water leaking into the solenoid caused it to rust and stick. A quick... Read more
Replaces the dispenser lever on your refrigerator's front panel. Order a new lever if yours is cracked, broken, or missing. Installs on the dispenser housing.
I had started to order the part from GE at $34.95 + shipping when I did a search and found AppliancePartsPros.com. I was able to get the same part for half of the price of GE. I placed the order and actually to my surprise received the part the very next day. I watched the video provided on-line to see how to replace the part. It took me about 10 minutes and everything is working well. Beats paying a repairman to come out on their schedule and do the same thing at, I am sure, a much higher... Read more
Freezer coils frozen over or fridge not cooling enough? This defrost timer controls the defrost cycle. DIYers report 30-minute repairs with video help.
After reviewing a number of testimonials and your videos from your APP.com site I determined my most likely problem was either the defrost heater, thermostat, timer or possibly all three. The real challenge now began. Getting to the specific parts with my specific model number was a real challenge. It was not as easy as removing the light guard and 5 screws since my model had two Track Cant Shelf vertical rails restricting the removal of the back panel. Also, these rails could not be removed... The Fuse is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It serves as a safety device designed to protect the microwave from excessive current that can cause overheating and potential fire hazards. When the current flowing through the microwave circuit exceeds a certain level, the fuse blows or breaks, cutting off the power to prevent damage or fire.
Common causes for a fuse to blow include power surges, faulty wiring within the appliance, or the use of microwave inappropriate containers that cause sparks. It is essential to address these issues not only to replace the fuse but also to correct the underlying problems to prevent future failures.
Symptoms of a bad fuse include:
I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing! I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile. Read more

Fix a dishwasher that won't drain completely with this piston and nut valve assembly. Simple DIY repair when water remains in tub after cycles.
It is very simple to fix. All the blogs recommend replacement of this part but do not explain why. This is a normally open check valve that permits the water from inside the dishwasher to drain out, either once it gets too high or just general splash. When the machine drains the pump comes on and the check valve closes. If the check valve is damaged or worn (like mine was) some of the water can pump back into the machine. So really, the problem is not that the machine will not drain but... Read more
Fix a refrigerator that freezes food or runs too cold with this temperature control thermostat. Common DIY repair with video guide, typically done in 10-15 minutes.
I went on you tube to try and figure out what might be causing this problem. It seemed that the problem was either the temperature thermostat or the defrost timer. I figured that seeing as I had never ever seen any frost in the freezer that the problem probably wasn't the defrost timer. So I ordered the temperature control thermostat, received it the very next day and in ten minutes removed the old one and installed the new one and we were good to go. It's been working just fine for the last... Read more
