Replacement spring for dishwasher detergent cup door assembly. Provides tension to keep cup door latched closed. Replace if broken, stretched, or lost.
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then... Fabric softener not dispensing or agitator loose? This washer dispenser cup sits atop the agitator. Simple DIY fix—twist off and replace in minutes.
Planning to spend hundreds on a new washer and was pleased to discover the agitator coupling was the only thing wrong. Very easy repair. The only additional feature we would have liked was a softener dispenser. Located a GE model of the same genre that used the same coupler and took the leap to get the agitator and dispenser cup for this model (WJRR4170). Replaced the old agitator with new one and dispenser cup. Worked perfectly! We now have a washer with dispenser that works great and saved... Read more
The Blower Wheel is an OEM replacement part for GE dryers. It has a role in the air circulation within the dryer, aiding in the even and efficient drying of clothes. The blower wheel, connected to the motor, helps in expelling the moist air out of the dryer through the exhaust vent during the drying cycle. Causes of a malfunctioning blower wheel are typically wear and tear from regular use, the accumulation of lint or debris, or damage to the wheel’s fins or central hub, which can impact its rotation and air circulation capability. Symptoms of a bad Blower Wheel include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
New wheel didn't look different than the other wheel, but we put it on, it works and we're very happy. Read more
Refrigerator not cooling or compressor overheating? The condenser fan motor circulates air through coils to dissipate heat. DIY repair in under 30 minutes.
I googled the issue and read several articles. Most started with cleaning the coils (which mine are on the bottom) (19yr old Kenmore 363.9557812). I had not really ever cleaned them well, vacuuming did little. I had to remove the cardboard cover off the back of the frig, and blew them clean (front to back). Once that was done, I started cleaning from the back and noticed the fan wasn't turning week (condensor fan). Blew it out too, have it a good soon with a pencil, it puffed out a bunch of... Read more
Left side oven door hinge provides smooth opening and closing operation. Replace if cracked, seized, worn, or binding. Mounts to oven cavity interior.
I ordered both hinges (if the nylon roller was bad on the left, it was probably going to go bad on the right side as well). The web site was easy to navigate, order process simple. Hinges arrived quickly. Slide the oven door up and off. unscrew the three screws for the hinge. You need to then pull up with some force (there is a big spring in there), and twist the hinge to get the last bit out. I used a hemostat to hold the spring and keep it from falling back into the hole. removed the... Read more
Holds the gas orifice in place at the front burner on gas ranges. Replace if cracked, broken, or kinked from repeated lifting of the cooktop.
Once I watched the video on your site about gas line install, it became apparent why the line bent when I raised the lid.. also discovered those two rods have nest to go into and the lid/top now sets down tight as designed ( and as an added bonus, gas smell disappeared during oven use) I ordered the gas lines with the model number, ordered all four …. it was a bit of a chore one came up when site opened I picked it, but did not know if it was the RH or LH etc.. so reading some of your answers... Supports the washer tub and absorbs vibration during cycles. Replace if corroded, worn, or broken to prevent drum sagging and banging during operation.
I have a 14 year old GE washing machine that had been making a lot of noise while running but had eventually just stopped flat. The agitator and spin cycle would not run. I found this site and made excellent use of all the repair videos to study about my issue. I put in my machine model number and I Immediately was able to start honing in on what my problem could be from website advice about popular repair parts, stories others had shared about their similar machine issues and watching videos,... Fix noisy or squealing sounds from the back of your fridge with a new condenser fan motor. Typical DIY repair takes 8-10 minutes with basic tools.
After removing the rear panel, I vacuumed the area. Then was easy to see condenser fan not spinning. I replaced the fan with a compression ring and a fan motor. First pulled the wiring harness connected to fan motor, then pulled off the fan with hands. Then used a wrench to remove 2 bolts for the motor. Next, pushed on new fan and screwed in the 2 bolts for the motor. Initially, I purchased a new temperature control to replace as well but after replacing fan and motor, I believe it was still... Dishwasher leaking from the bottom? A cracked or worn inlet sump causes water leaks during wash cycles. Moderately difficult repair with video guidance.
Replaced with a new Inlet Sump [WD18X213]. It was a little tedious, attaching the Inlet Sump, back to the pump, because I did the job with the dishwasher in place (not pulled out). My dishwasher was plumbed with copper pipe, so I really didn't want to upset that. Also, I had previously replaced the motor and the pump in this dishwasher, so I was familiar with how the Inlet Sump attached to the pump. Again, it's very tight working under the unit while it is still in place, and I wouldn't... Read more
Replacement drain hose kit for dishwashers. Flexible tubing routes wastewater from the wash chamber to the pump outlet. Replace if cracked or leaking.
Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?". Fix a washer that won't advance through cycles or skips fill/agitate steps. This timer controls cycle sequencing. DIY repair in about 30 minutes.
I removed the dial knob and plate as instructed by the video, removed the front panel of the washer to access the switch. I found the plastic molded bracket that the timer rests on to be broken and the tab on the timer where it is attached by a screw to be broken. I ordered a replacement switch, dial and knob. When it arrived I replaced the parts as instructed, but I had to use super glue to hold the new switch in place due to the support tab on the washer panel being broken off. After letting... Read more

Washer won't spin or agitate? A faulty lid switch magnet may be the cause. This part signals the switch that the lid is closed. Easy 20-minute DIY fix.
Replaced lid switch and lid magnet. Took just a little longer then 20 minutes as I had to splice in the new lid switch as it wasn't one that was a clip in, it was hard wired in. Read more
Freezer door gasket creates an airtight seal to prevent cool air loss and maintain temperature. Replace when torn, worn, or door won't close properly.
I do repairs for rental property companies and was inspecting a refrigerator freezer that wouldn't close properly.
