This is the duct assembly - sometimes called the heater box - that houses or channels heated air from the heating element into the dryer drum. It directs airflow so clothes dry efficiently and evenly. Replace this assembly if it is cracked, warped, or damaged, which can cause poor drying performance, unusual noises, or overheating issues.
