I removed the burners and replaced the igniters. The burners must be removed because the igniters go underneath them. This job turned out to be very difficult because my stove is 16 years old and the screws holding down the igniters were completely rusted and bound to the stove top, so I had to drill out all of the screws. I removed all the individual burners so I could lift the stainless cover to expose the igniter wires. I cleaned all the wire connections and the 4 good igniters and replaced the one bad igniter. Reassembly was easy and everything worked properly when done. Video of repair was helpful and all parts ordered were correct and shipped promptly and I will definitely use AppliancePartsPros again. We ordered a new ignitor and it came in two days just as promised. The only problem that we experienced was that the leads on the new ignitor were to short. We were able to find enough slack on the oven end to make it work. The oven is once again working great. The video was a little off on what need to be done to disconnect the ignitor. We actually had to flip the oven over to get to the bottom. We could not access the connector through the back. Read more

Replaced the oven igniter, following the general instructions on the ApplicancePartsPro.com website. It took me a little while to figure out how to get to the wiring for the igniter, as I had no access panel on the back to get to the wires. In my particular Whirlpool oven (very old model) it turned out that you have to remove the pots/pans drawer under the oven to get to the exposed wiring at the back. I disassembled the top of the range and looked at the problem burner. It looked like there was a spark at all three other burners but not the problem burner. There was a visible spark at the connector between the wiring harness and the ceramic igniter but that spark wasn't making it up to the top of the igniter where it can light the burner. Read the reviews on your site and watched your video and decided it was worth a try to fix rather than to replace stove. Ordered the igniter for the oven then I also ordered the igniter for the broiler as it was sluggish as well. When you go, go all the way. Only problem I had was with the wire nuts, wish that something more substantial was provided. Got the stuff quickly, as promised and installed as per video and oven and broiler work like new. This range is 12 years old. We noticed it would take 10 minutes to start heating up. A YouTube search revealed this a common problem with this Maytag range. I decided to replace all three ignitors as all behaved similarly. Took about an hour and a half- only because my hands do not work as well as they used to. The hardest part was getting the gas valve to turn. An old all metal one from the 1950s located in a narrow space that usually holds a drawer. Finally got it to turn using a crescent wrench on the metal part that turns and a pipe wrench to hold the valve still. Then it was smooth sailing except for stripping the wires on the short bit attached to the oven. Had no desire to pull the oven out of the wall, so made it happen.
