Fix an oven that won't light or hold temperature with this gas range igniter. Common repair for clicking sounds without ignition. DIY-friendly, 10-20 min.
Replaced the gas regulator and the oven igniter. It was not a very difficult repair.. most of the parts were easy to get to. The biggest challenge was disconnecting the gas hose from the regulator. It had "pipe dope" (sealant) on the threads. I reconnected with yellow gas pipe tape. Read more

Removed the bottom tin work in the oven and removed the burner tube. Tried to remove the igniter bracket but the screws were too tight for the Phillips head and couldn't get vice grips to clamp on the head, so I bent the bracket enough to remove and replace the igniter. Then reassembled. I give AppliancePros.com a 5 star rating. Site was easy to use, the part was delivered in under 2 days, and it was the correct part packaged carefully so the igniter was protected from breaking. Read more
Burner won't spark or ignite? This cooktop igniter electrode creates the spark needed to light gas burners. Simple DIY fix in under 30 minutes.
This is a Montgomery Ward gas range made by Tappan. Parts are no longer offered for this appliance. So, I had to eyeball various ignitors to determine which one would work. I settled on the least expensive one and ordered two (Just in case there were "issues"). The parts arrived quickly but were not a simple drop-in replacement. The new ones were longer and smaller in diameter. I had to use the original bracket because it provided the electrical ground for the spark. I used a spring to... Read more
This is an igniter and bracket assembly, and it is intended for use in dryers. This is a genuine replacement part made by Speed Queen. The igniter is connected to the dryer on the back of the appliance, and it is used to heat the drying tub. A new igniter and bracket assembly might be needed if the dryer is unable to reach the correct temperature. If the heat in the dryer seems inconsistent during any drying cycle the igniter might be bad and will need to be replaced. For this repair the user will need access to the back of the appliance. Be sure the dryer is completely powered down and cooled before attempting to repair. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer, and it is sold individually. It is compatible with Dryers made by Speed Queen.

Dryer not heating? A failed igniter is the most common cause. This part ignites the gas burner for heat. Watch the video for step-by-step replacement.
I looked on Appliance Parts Pros. com and read the problems that others had and replacing the ignitor made sense so I ordered one. It came by UPS within 3 days. I watched the video on how to replace it. Everything went easily, except the screw that held the ignitor in place was a philups head screwdriver and I couldn't get a screwdriver into the small space I had to work in so I went to Harbor Freight Tools and bought an inexpensive 90 degree rachet screwdriver for $2.99 and it worked great.... Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption. I got a new ignitor as well since I was in there, and compared to the valve, it was cheap! I thought I could get in... Read more
