Replaced the actuator pad on the Whirlpool Gold Series, releasing the electronic menu pad to get to the water activator pad was the biggest hurdle. I replaced the Ice Dispenser Lever. Since the replacement part is only available in white and my fridge is bone, I replaced also the Water Dispenser Lever, so it looks much better. I followed the instructions in the video, which were very useful and very well done. Replaces the paddle lever you press to dispense ice or water. Install when the original actuator is cracked, broken, or worn for smooth operation.
Flipped the circuit breaker to turn the power to the fridge off. Had to remove the faceplate to the ice/water dispenser. Had to remove approx 16 screws and unplug the circuit board. Removed water tube (That was the hardest part) ! Had to disconnect and remove the broken part and reattach the new part. Then put everything back together again. Read more

Removed drip pan from ice dispenser. Removed two screws hidden behind drip pan to loosen bezel at bottom. Carefully lifted bezel off top hook to expose controller board cabling. Disconnected three connectors to control board behind bezel to remove bezel completely. Removed two (possibly three) screws to access the back of the ice chute mechanism.
