I ordered the replacement gasket and...replaced it. One issue was that the replacement procedure was not at all like the video to which I was directed when I got the gasket. The video showed a gasket with a rigid flange that had to be inserted into the door structure. On my Amana, I clearly had to remove the inner plastic liner and set the gasket under it. I ordered 2 new gaskets, one for the freezer and another for the refrigerator. These arrived within a few days. I soaked both in the bathtub filled with hot water for about 20 minutes. My grandson installed both gaskets without any trouble. I duck taped on the freezer door to allow it to 'seep' with the cold air inside the freezer unit as I was told this would help make a better seal. Pulled out old parts, and swapped with new. New seals needed to be warmed up with a hair dryer to get wrinkles out from shipping, but that was simple as well. With my fridge, there was also a secondary piece on the door which needed to be removed with a screw. Took some extra time to give all those surfaces on the fridge a much needed cleaning while the seals were off. New seals fit perfectly and the replacement was simple- video provided on the website was also helpful. Read more

Loosened nuts around outer flange. Pulled out old gasket as shown in video. Prepared new gasket per included instructions. Installed new gasket again using techniques shown in video. Secured nuts then confirmed proper seal. This was not a difficult repair however patience and care is needed to ensure new gasket is properly seated without damage. Read more

The gaskets arrived the day after ordering. I went on Google to watch videos of how the gaskets for my model refrigerator were to be replaced. After viewing the videos I anticipated a more difficult time completing the replacement, when in fact is was very simple. I removed the old gaskets and placed the new ones in the dryer to soften and make more pliable for replacement. It went extremely smoothly even though I anticipated having issues. Read more
