Kenmore / Sears Valve

First, I had to remove the cover plate on the back of the refrigerator. Then I unscrewed the water inlet valve from the rest of the assembly. I then unplugged the electrical contacts by pulling them apart. There are two fittings on the valve. One has a nut on it. That one just needs the nut unscrewed, after which the pex tubing can be pulled out. The other one has a pex connection. I cleaned all the jet nozzles with a toothpick and a pipe cleaner to remove the hard water deposits. I then replace the ring bearing under the bottom spray wand and the ring bearing under the upper spray wand. I also replaced the smaller radial ring bearing. Removed some screws, opened the top of the wash machine, unplugged some wires to remove the part, plugged the wires back into the mew part, put the new water valve into place, secured the water valve with the screw, put the top back on the wash machine, and replaced all remaining screws! I found I could "rap" on my broiler/oven control valve and the oven would light, so I ordered a new control valve. Removed burners, grates, removed cook top,took screws out from raised trim and wells for burners. Removed electric connection for burner igniters and took gas connection off of valve that goes to burners. Took out screw that holds in gas valve in gas manifold. Replaced gas connections to burners on new valves, installed new valves and trim . Read more
