With the basket out of the dishwasher, the plastic parts basically snap on and off... popped the broken parts off and the new parts on. The 2 wheel and mount assemblies were a little more complicated. The video on the website advises to disconnect the supply line and drain line... I didn't have to do this. I just pulled the dishwasher out of its cabinet a little over a foot and removed the 2 screws holding each assembly in place and removed them. The previous gaskets (2 PER ASSEMBLY)... Read more

I nearly shelled out for a new Kitchenaid when I remembered APP and entered my model # just for fun. The interactive diagrams and install videos showed where all the parts "should" be, mine were badly disintegrated, so I replaced the damaged ones and swapped out all of the other easily accessible seals and bearings (also gave it a good and very disturbing cleaning). I initially purchased a door switch, thinking that it would solve the problem. I replaced the switch by removing the top 6 star screws, removing the component cover and removing one of the door switches (using a 3/16 socket) with the new one that I bought but I still had the problem. • Door latch failure

Had to remove the screws that hold the dish washer to the counter top by knocking them out of the counter top. After seeing how the door handle worked I will not have to do again as all you have to do to open is stick a long screw driver up inside and push the chip and it opens. Ordered handle installed it now everything works fine. $29.00 for little plastic handle seems quiet rediculous but Kitchenaid and parts direct where $39.00 so I guess I got a bargain. The PC board was bigger than the original so had to modify the mounts, the pump and rotor are pretty straight forward but would have much easier with another pair of hands. It took about 2 hours start to finish. One and a half days to get the parts, fantastic service. A new dishwasher is $1300.00. the parts were $314.00, so more than worth fixing. Read more

The upper spray arm mount on our KitchenAide dishwasher wore out, allowing the spray arm to droop into the dishes and pots in the lower rack. 1. Turn off the electricity to the dishwasher 2. Unscrew all of the screws on the inside of the dishwasher door. 3. Take off the door and put it aside 4. Loosen the panel that contains the control board, control panel and the door lock mechanism 5. Using a screw driver, push in the small moveable tab in the center of the plastic clip that is holding the control board to the plastic panel. 6. I discovered a major leak at the bottom of the dishwasher near the diverter motor. The leak was so significant that water dripped onto my basement floor. The dishwasher is 7 years old. I read a number of articles suggesting that the problem would be the gasket on the diverter motor. I ordered one and that wasn’t the problem. Used the vinyl touch up paint on the tops of posts and slid vinyl tips over 130 posts. The paint acts as an adhesive to keep the tips secure. Read more

I replaced the Board-Phas and speed control plate since power was not making it to the motor. When I received the speed control plate it had nuts on the upper screws with springs, since my old one didn't have nuts I assumed that the nuts were to keep the springs on until installed.
