DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. Read more

Thanks to the excellent videos along with my experience as an aircraft component mechanic, I was able to replace the a number of major parts, including the armature, field assembly, brushes and 3 gears. Took my time, got it back together and set the motor speed on the first try. I'm very happy, because now my wife is very happy too. She's had that mixer for over 30 years, and now it runs like new. I replaced the Board-Phas and speed control plate since power was not making it to the motor. When I received the speed control plate it had nuts on the upper screws with springs, since my old one didn't have nuts I assumed that the nuts were to keep the springs on until installed. • Will not drain

I checked the drain hose for blocking at the garbage disposal and then at the connection point to the dishwasher. The hose was clear and nothing was obviously obstructing where the drain hose connects to the dishwasher. Bought a new shaft and replaced the original shaft. I tried soaking the original shaft with the dough tool stuck on in boiling water and vinegar, but no luck. Dough was like cement. Dough was already hardened like cement, so the hot water didn't change the chemistry at this point. Read more

I initially purchased a door switch, thinking that it would solve the problem. With the basket out of the dishwasher, the plastic parts basically snap on and off... popped the broken parts off and the new parts on. The 2 wheel and mount assemblies were a little more complicated. The video on the website advises to disconnect the supply line and drain line... I didn't have to do this.
