Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken spring on oven door   Phil H. • Kirkland , WA • February 07, 2016

The replacement hinge unit arrived in just two days. The JennAire (Maytag) oven door is fairly typical in that it easily lifts off of the hinge bars. Once the door is off then removing two screws is all that's required to remove the hinge unit from the oven. The new hinge slides up into place and while you hold it up inside of its location putting the old screws back in is very easy. After sliding the door back down onto the hinge bars the oven is as good as new Read more

Oven Door Hinge
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP9782033

This oven door hinge will work for either the left or right side of an oven door. The hinges on the door are responsible for ensuring that the door can open and close properly. If one or both of the hinges are not working correctly, the door may become difficult to open and close or may not stay on the oven. If this happens, the hinges should be replaced before using the oven.Made of durable metal, the oven door hinges should last a long time. However, they can become damaged and may need to be replaced. If there is too much pressure placed on the door or hinges, it could cause them to break. Owners may want to replace both of the hinges at the same time. Be sure that the oven is off and cooled before replacing this part. The oven door hinges are for use with certain ovens from KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Inglis, and Kenmore. The hinges are genuine OEM replacement parts sourced from the manufacturer. Each hinge is sold individually. Owners that need to replace both hinges should buy two.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven door wouldn't close all the way   Richard M. • Durham , NC • March 08, 2015

I replaced the hinges and hinge mounts. Upon inspection of the mounts, it seems that they had become slightly deformed on the lower portion, where the heel of the hinge applies pressure to the frame. Probably didn't need new springs, just the mounts, but I just kept em in anyway. Easy fix, anybody can do it, good instructions in the kit. Very pleased with appliancepartspro speed of delivery. This oven was a Kenmore model #66595822003. I replaced both spring hinges. This oven was a white oven so it took the MFG# WP8053807 hinge (order two of them). They are the same hinge. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken hinge.   Jack M. • Tulsa , OK • February 12, 2018

Oven door had been acting up for years (difficult to close). One of the hinges finally broke, so I ordered a replacement. Installation was about as easy as it gets. One trick: FIRST get a paperclip (or small nail or something similar) and put it through the hole in the existing hinge that you are not replacing to keep the hinge from retracting all the way later when the door is removed. If you don't, the hinge could pinch your finger or hand when the door is removed and it snaps closed. At a... Read more

I replaced the hinges, which involved removing the door by opening it all the way, inserting a small allen wrench into the locking pin hole on each of the two hinges, partially closing the door and pulling it toward me.
