Removed old handle endcap by unscrewing the two outer screws on the oven door that screw into the endcaps and holds the door together that allows you access the one inner screw that holds the endcap in place. Replaced the oven controller. This needed the only removal of six hex screws securing the back guard rear shield, two-wire plugs on the control unit, and four Phillips screws. All are easily accessible. The first symptom was our microwave would continue to run after the time was up. The light would go out, the turn table would stop but you could still hear the microwave running and whatever was in it would continue to cook. The only way to stop it was to open the door. I had to take the top panels off and two back panels off. Took off about thirty screws. It was very dirty and dusty inside so I took the lower panels off as well to clean and vacuum it. The hardest part was getting the double oven out of the cabinet. Overall it was very doable. Read more

Ordered New Gasket and installed in about 3-4 Minutes. Only need small pliers to remove some of old clips from holes. New Gasket clipped in easily by hand. Read more

I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door. • Oven is too hot

Well it wasn't hard to replace at all pretty easy. But trying to figure out what the problem was that got me. I turned of my oven and the light continued to stay on like it wasn't turn off but it was. After researching the problem, I ordered a new cooling fan. My "fix-it" guy winds up in the ICU for 3 weeks! So...YouTube here I come. It appeared pretty simple in video form, except the video wasn't of my stove. All in all, what looked like no more than a 6 screw removal, turned into tearing 1/2 the stove apart. Did some Google searches and most comments concerning this issue on LG stoves indicated the high temperature thermostat malfunctions when using the self cleaning function.
