Genuine Bosch part

Part Number: 00484782
The Surface Element is an OEM part for Bosch cooktop and ranges. Measuring 6 inches across, it provides focused heat from below for smaller sized cookware.
Causes of a bad 6" plug-in element generally relate to normal wear and tear over time. Spills left on the coils could potentially cause issues by corroding internal wiring or damaging heating components.
Symptoms of a bad narrow surface element can include:
- The element heating intermittently or not at all
- Only parts of the coil visibly heating up
- Buzzing or clicking coming from below the element
- Tripped circuit breakers affecting that specific element
This genuine OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau and select Kenmore models.

I broke two of the elements in my GE Profile cooktop because I failed miserably at removing the glass top. It pays to do your research, kiddies. All it takes is a Number 10 Torx bit to remove 12 screws holding the glass to the body of the appliance, and it lifts straight up. I was replacing the glass because it broke during my home's construction. Anyway, you need a 1/4" nut driver to remove the mounting tabs on the bottom of the old element and transfer them to the new one. The whole swap out...

Bake element burned out Ron W. • Guntersville , AL • December 03, 2015
Having a very old wall oven,I could not find any parts or manual associated. Chris diligently located a part that would hopefully replace the old element. The old oven did not have the sleeve type connector used for the current elements. The old wiring had a screw attachment. I drilled a small hole at end of new element connector and then screwed the wire and element together like the original. Not difficult but very pleased and it worked fine. Thanks to Chris and ApplianceParts Pros for...

Triple burner in operative Charles F. • Dripping Springs , TX • December 04, 2014
Diagnosed by local appliance shop as element. Didn't sound correct due to manner of failure. Also they were charging three times Whirlpool list for the part. Continuity checked element with ohm meter - ok. Replaced switch. Problem solved. Mine had enough slack in wiring to lift cooktop from island & support. 12-15 screws to lift off glass and you're there. Familiarity with a multi-meter is a plus to diagnose correctly.
