Replaced defrost heater, temperature and defrost limiter thermostat. After taking the cover off the air chiller I found the coils frozen solid and defrosted it with a hair dryer. Once defrosted I remover the heater coil to test it it was fine, then I could see the defrost limiter was broken and as I put the unit back together I broke the heater tube (it is glass) so I ordered all the parts that might be defective and replaced them for less than the charge of having some one come to check it out. Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. Simple fix. Our oven is a GE dual fuel (gas burners on top, electric elements inside) model # J2S968SOH4SS. The lower element hidden underneath the bottom drip cover stopped heating. I had to remove the front door of the oven which is also easy to remove in order to slide out the lower drip cover. Instructions to do this are in the owners manual.
