Temperature Sensor
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304525427

The Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges. It monitors and reports the temperature inside the oven cavity to ensure foods are cooked at the correct temperature. The sensor communicates temperature readings to the control board to regulate burner and heating element.

Causes of a bad temperature sensor can include faulty electronic elements, damage from oven spills or moisture intrusion, or sensors wearing out over extended use. At room temperature (70°F) the sensor should read around 1100 ohms. If your reading is 10% outside of that, the probe would need to be replaced.

Symptoms of a bad range temperature sensor include:

  • Inaccurate or fluctuating oven temperatures
  • Inconsistent or uneven cooking results
  • Food burning on one side of the oven or under/overcooking
  • The oven heating element running continuously without cycling

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

It is designed to monitor the oven's temperature and automatically cut off power to the heating elements if the temperature exceeds a certain threshold. It acts as a failsafe to prevent excessive heat buildup and potential damage to the oven or surrounding areas.

Causes of a faulty oven thermal fuse can include a power surge, overheating, or electrical component failure. These factors can result in the thermal fuse blowing; interrupting the power supply to the heating elements and preventing further operation of the oven.

Symptoms of a bad oven thermal fuse may include:

  • Oven not heating up at all
  • Error codes or error messages displayed on the oven's control panel
  • Oven appears to be powered off

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.
