Refrigerator Hose Or Tube
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 242220208
This water inlet tube routes incoming water inside the refrigerator, restoring a secure, leak-resistant path for the ice/water system. Replacing a damaged tube helps prevent leaks and ensures proper filling where the system needs it. What it does:
- Carries water from the supply/valve to the internal fill point
- Replaces tubing that is cracked, kinked, brittle, or leaking
- Helps resolve water drips at the rear or around the fill area
- Clears the path so blockages don't reduce or stop filling/ice production
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
- Pull the refrigerator forward carefully for rear access and protect the floor
- Match the original routing; transfer any model-specific clips or seals if present
- Restore water, purge air, and check all connections thoroughly for leaks

Connector was leaking Joseph C. • Aston , PA • August 24, 2015
Cut off old connector and attached new one. Was very easy. But then the water line sprung a leak above the connector. Once on, the connector can't be removed, so I had to order another connector (paying shipping again), cut away the connector and leaking section of hose, then reinstall the new connector. All very easy, just annoying. Shipping was very fast so it made it easier to deal with.

Part Number: 218976448
The Water Tube is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It is a flexible plastic tube that transports water from the refrigerator's water valve to the dispensing system within the door.

Causes of a bad tube can be wear and tear, piercing from sharp shelf edges, or damage incurred during repairs.
Symptoms of a bad water tube include:
- Leaks or drips of water inside the refrigerator
- Slow water flow or intermittent water flow from the dispenser
- Dispenser unable to produce water or ice
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Maytag French door fridge leaking water from freezer and spraying water from supply line to ice maker. Eric H. • Centralia , IL • January 01, 2021
Replaced water line to ice maker and installed redesigned p trap drain.
I watched the installation videos and my wife and I easily completed this project.
One thing that I want to add for others. When the ice maker supply was leaking, it filled the funnel in the ice maker with an ice block. I had to remove the ice maker(which is pretty easy) and defrost the ice block before reinstalling the supply line. If I had not, the water would have poured into the ice bin.

The GE refrigerator ice maker quit working William M. • Manchester , NC • June 28, 2018
I checked the water supply to the solenoid valve and it was okay, but no water was getting passed the valve. I checked the 115 vac signal from the ice maker to the valve and it was present. Unfortunately I did not know to depress the white fitting on the outlet of the valve to release the line to the ice maker so I cut it, and had to purchase a replacement.
