Would not run led dimmed condenser fan would not run Pete M. • Santa Fe , NM • May 16, 2015
We replaced the main circuit board and the LED started to work and the condenser fan worked, but all we had were relay clicking sounds, but no cooling. The compressor had become so hot trying to work when the main circuit board was amiss, that it had popped the over temperature sensor on its side. As some one point out, if you remove the PTC+OLP assembly with the capacitor on it, and shake it, you will hear a rattle inside---and that is bad. We ordered a second round of parts from...

The refrigerator suddenly stopped running the interior light worked but the temperature panel was dark the appliance kept trying to cycle on but immediately would click off instead over and over Garyn G. • Long Beach , NY • December 15, 2024
First I spent time researching. Then I looked at the control panel, which to my DIY eye looked great. Then I replaced the overload and run capacitor. And that fixed the problem. The repair itself took less than 15 minutes but I spent about 30 additional minutes researching and watching repair videos. Note that It takes some effort to access and pull the damaged part out of the socket on the compressor.

Loud clicking from the back of my refrigerator Randy W. • Granbury , TX • March 04, 2015
Research question lead to others that had the same issue. Consensus lead to a common repair. Compressor overload switch going bad. After ordering the correct parts, I changed out both the switch and the motor start capacitor just in case. After cleaning the equipment, I then put everything back together. Results were, clicking gone, seems to be quieter operation because of cleaning, more efficient cooling and nerves calmed.

Refrigerator not getting cold at all and everything thawing out compressor clicking Victor F. • West Milford , NJ • June 15, 2015
I researched the problem and determined that the only thing that can cause this was compressor bad or not starting. Since it was cold the day before I felt it had to be the starter parts and ordered them. It was also very important to clean the coil which I believe caused the over heating.

I read alot of blogs about the same similar symptom, but none described by exact problem. I kept reading how the compressor relay would make a click noise or sisal. I also found out the overload switch could cause a like symptom. The end result being that upon removal of the relay, it was discolored and made a rattling noise when shook. The overload switch was heat cracked on the plastic and looked like it had had enough. This was easily accomplished by using the repair mans print out for the...
