Drive belt transfers motor power to spin the washer drum. Replace if you hear squealing, slipping, or complete spin failure. Verify fit with your model.
Very difficult fix even though I had done it once before about 15 years ago. Problem for me was getting the transmission down far enough to get clearance to install the belt. Model LA780P from the mid 80s. It started leaking transmission fluid and that worried and hurried me. I bought a newer washer but went back to this older style because they are repairable.
