This convection ring element supplies the heat for the oven's convection bake and roast cycles. Replacing a failed element restores even convection performance so foods cook properly across multiple racks.
- Provides the heat source for convection modes; the fan circulates air across this ring for uniform baking
- Common symptoms of failure: no heat in convection, very long preheat, or uneven results during convection cycles
- Visual clues include cracks, blistering, or burn-through on the element band
- Electrical clue: element tests open/infinite (OL) with a multimeter when power is disconnected
What's included: One 240V/2400W ring-style convection heating element with terminal ends. Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing; this is a high-wattage circuit
- Access varies by model: remove the rear panel or the interior convection cover to reach the element and terminals
- Note wire locations and transfer leads to the new element one at a time
- Ensure the element sits flat and does not contact the cavity walls; tighten mounting screws snugly
