Trial and error only cooktop unit. Everything mounted into the counter and needed to pull unit out. I figured it was a control switch or the burner itself. Based on costs, I took the less expensive route and replaced the 2 known malfunctioning switches. All on-line videos said it was a 2-3 hour process to replace. After looking at several YouTube videos that were only moderately helpful for my particular model, I disconnected the power at the breaker, disconnected the wires below the cooktop to the junction boxed lifted the whole unit out, including the fan assembly. I flipped it upside down and took off the screws holding the unit to the glass top. Although the new fan switch did not look the same as the original switch, the new switch does fit. Turn the power off to the range. Pull off the black control knob. Remove 6 - 5/16 screws in back of the range behind the controls panel. Take out 2 screws (behind the control knob) in front that hold the control swirch in the panel. Remove each wire from the old switch and place it onto the new switch (one at a time)so get the wires are installed in the correct place. Make sure the wire are tight on the new switch.
