This refrigerator ice level control board monitors ice production and storage levels in your automatic ice maker. It signals when to stop making ice when the bin is full and resume production when ice is needed. Replace this control board when your ice maker overproduces ice, fails to stop when full, or doesn't restart ice production when the bin empties.
Bought new optic control boards, both the emitter and the receiver. The repair process was so simple. The KitchenAid repair tech came out to diagnose our issue. He was only going to come back and install a new emitter. They wanted a lot of money to do the repair. They were going to charge us $257 just for the part (emitter board). We bought both boards for $300 from AppliancePartsPros. We decided to replace both boards, because if one went bad the other might not be far behind. Read more

Washer won't advance cycles or stops mid-cycle? Timer controls cycle progression. DIY repair if timer knob doesn't advance washing stages properly.
The most challenging part of this was determining what the problem was. At first I thought the clutch (or related parts) had worn out, but by chance, I pulled on the timer knob, and the machine started spinning. When I let it go, it stopped. So clearly the spinning part worked. Then I watched a few videos about repairing a bad timer and determined that it was the likely culprit. I ordered the part. It was very simple to replace. And it worked perfectly. Saved me hundreds either in... Read more

Replaced the main circuit board, evaporator fan motor, and power supply. Probably did not need to change the power supply but did so just to be safe. After removing and testing the continuity for the heating element, then the thermostat, I wasn't sure what to check next. I chatted online, and Susan suggested the control board was the most likely problem. I'm only somewhat handy, so I was nervous when the part didn't arrive with instructions. All I needed was a screwdriver to removed the front panel of the dishwasher (and to lift the tabs on the plastic housing of the control board), and it's clearly labelled as to where to plug in each wire...
