Whirlpool Refrigerator Door Gasket (Beige)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 2159075

The Refrigerator Door Gasket (Beige) is an OEM replacement part specifically designed for Whirlpool-brand refrigerators. The gasket is responsible for preventing warm air and moisture from entering the refrigerator when doors close. The gasket measures approximately 19 ¼” wide x 62" tall.

Causes of a gasket issue can include cracking and degradation due to repeated compression over many years of use. Sections may lose elasticity and no longer seal tightly.

Symptoms of a bad gasket include:

  • High energy costs as the system works to maintain proper cooling
  • Warm, humid interior environment allowing food decay
  • Visible air leaks around gasket edges when doors are shut

This part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, and other brands.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The seal on the door of the refigerator was damaged also the hinge cap needed replacing as it was cracked   Michael S. • Fredericksburg , VA • January 20, 2016

I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. The video online was easy to follow and this... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Damaged refrigerator door seals.   Ralph A. • Sanford , FL • July 31, 2017

Ordered replacement door seals, assistance picking the seals and speed of shipping was excellent. The installation was about as easy a job as can be, remove old seals, clean the doors and press in the new seals. With that said, I don't believe these are the same quality as factory original seals, the doors do not close as positive as the original and I have an air leak in the freezer door seal allowing condensation and ice to form. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Fan wheel damaged   Scott G. • Kissimmee , FL • January 19, 2018

Took the whole dryer apart to access the wheels (4) of them, belt and fan wheel, also had to clean all the lint out that somehow builds up inside the dryer. Plus cleaned out dryer duct vent, added to the time involved. If you are planning on fixing the dryer because of a noise which was in my case, I highly recommend buy all the parts for complete maintenance mentioned above. What helped save me time? I watch a dryer fan wheel replacement training video first, highly recommend this!... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Door gasket was torn   Alan A. • Eugene , OR • April 04, 2017

The new gasket arrived in a box half the size of the gasket so the gasket was folded to fit into the box. I hung the new gasket up for a couple of hours and then just prior to installation used a hair dryer as per included instructions to soften the gasket and minimize minor wrinkles in the gasket. The old gasket came out easily and the new went in easily. A 5 minute job in total. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The magnetic gasket around my freezer was not keeping the door closed   Jason F. • Towson , MD • June 27, 2016

The gasket on my freezer door was not holding the door closes. When the main door closed, the pressure which shifts to the freezer was popping the door open and it was not closing because the magnet had lost its' mojo. I watched the video for the replacement of the gasket on the freezer door and my experience was exactly the same. One area that you should be mindful of: the depth of the fin on the replacement gasket is short, so do not make the slot of this fin too deep. When you are... Read more
