I turned off the power then removed the six or so screws from the back of the top panel. I marked the two front wires on the latch with tape so I would not get them confused. I removed the two screws holding the latch on--these take a six pointed star bit on the screw driver--the bit is in most screw driver sets with interchangeable heads. I then connected the wires to the new latach and put everything back together. The whole process took between ten and fifteen minutes. Read more

I didn't realize I was getting both a refrigerator door handle and a freezer door handle in one set, but now we have the freezer handle if we need it. Online instructions say to carefully remove the door inner facing in order to acces the handle screws. Easily done with a couple butter knives and some patience. Popped right off. But then there was a 2 piece inner "door" still in the way. Removed two more screws then carefully pried it off the plastic clips and swung out of way. Removed handle screws and old handle. New handle is metal not plastic and uses supplied machine screws. Installed new handle and re-assembled. Read more
