This was for a home we own(ed) in Port St Lucie, Fl. Our tenant had dropped something on it and broken it and, though she promised to fix it, had left without doing so. It is an easy job if you are good with screw driver and some general sense of things. Unplug the oven and than I opened the oven door and unscrewed two screws from bottom lift the glass door up and unscrewed the element coils total 4 screws there in total and pull the whole glass top out, removed the bracket from old glass top another 2 screws and 2 small brackets(snap on) from behind the glass top and put them on new one. slide the new glass top with back brackets into slot lift it up again to... I turned off the breaker to the Cook top, I then got under the counter and pushed the cook top through the opening in the counter, placed the cook top over the opening on the counter to stabilize it and then I used a Phillip head screwdriver removed all the screws , lifted the broken glass and put on the new glass, replaced the screws, placed the cook top back into the opening on the counter and turned back on the breaker. I unplugged the stove. I opened the oven door and removed the two srews holding the front of the cooktop to the stove. I raise the cooktop then remove the four screws holding the burners to the cooktop. I remove the four screws from the hinges then I removed the cooktop. I found a posting online for someone who had replaced a burner for the range same model, which required almost the same disassembly procedure as replacing the cooktop assembly itself. It was easy to remove the old top and replace it with the new. the only thing we couldn't find the heat resistant silicone strip that goes between the counter top and the glass cook top. we ended up reusing the old one. maybe it should come with the replacement top? Read more
