This is a replacement log splitter fender directly from the manufacturer. The fender protects and covers the wheel to help prevent any object from disrupting the wheel's motion or damaging the wheel itself. Fenders can crack and break from regular use. If any heavy object falls onto the fender, the wheel will be kept safe. However, if fender is cracked, it will need to be replaced to avoid wheel damage. Fenders can be replaced relatively easily. Depending on the model, the wheel may need to be removed. Jack up the log splitter to remove the wheel. The fender is held in place by three bolts which a socket wrench can remove. Once the wheel is off, remove the old fender and replace it with the new one using the same bolts. If the bolts are in rough shape, consider replacing them. Replace the wheel and lower the jack to complete the repair. The fender is a genuine OEM replacement part and is designed to be used with MTD, Troy-Bilt, and Yard Machines brand log splitters.
