Maintains tension on the idler pulley to keep the drum belt tight. Replace if the spring is stretched, broken, or missing to restore proper belt operation.
From watching the video I got the general idea, disassemble 50% of the dryer. Only had 2 differences in my dryer from the one used in the video, so the video was helpful. The one difference was the connections to the front side of the dryer were on the power distribution circuit board located on the left of the dryer under a sheet metal cover. These were harder to disconnect with my fat thumbs. The bigger issue was with removing the front control panel. In the video there doesn't appear to be... Read more

Seals the gap between drum and front panel to retain heat and reduce friction. Replace if worn, torn, or causing noise. Confirm fit with your model.
Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. I can say AppliancePartsPros is MUCH cheaper for the identical Whirlpool genuine part. While changing the ignitor, I noticed there was an excessive amount of lint in the dryer, which was caused by worn drum seals. I ordered... Read more
The Igniter is an OEM part for GE dryers. It is designed to ignite the gas burner to produce heat, which is essential for drying clothes. The igniter ensures that the gas is lit efficiently and safely, enabling the dryer to reach and maintain the proper temperature for effective drying.
You should replace the igniter if it becomes faulty. Causes of a bad igniter can include electrical failures, cracks or breaks in the igniter material, or wear and tear from regular use. These issues can prevent the igniter from generating the necessary heat to ignite the gas.
Symptoms of a bad igniter include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Changed ignitor. Ordered new ignitor by just putting dryer model number in the search box. When I opened the dryer up and took the old one out I was originally upset. The meter read 73 ohms. I was expecting OL (open line). The new one read 273 ohms so I put it in. Dryer works now. The install video’s are old. It was much easier than the video’s showed. Opening the control panel was a little trickier than the video. You do NOT need to take screws off the back of the dryer. There are 2 screws... Read more
Dryer not heating or displaying error code E5B? This heating element generates heat to dry clothes. DIY repair typically takes 45 minutes with basic tools.
After following troubleshooting steps on the website verified the heating element assembly needed replacing. Since I had to breakdown the entire unit to get to it took the time to clean lint, dust and other buildup from inside and replaced other fuses also. Ordered and replaced the heating element assembly, control thermistor, thermostat, and inlet thermal fuse. Very easy repair following the provided videos on the site. Read more
Replacement lint screen filters debris to maintain airflow and prevent clogs. Replace when torn, damaged, or worn. Confirm fit with your model number.
I referenced the repair video. Very straightforward and easy. Only need 3 tools: 1/4 and 5/16 nut drivers and Philips head screwdriver. About 15 minute job. Surprising how much lint and dust build up inside the chassis, was able to clean that out too. Read more
Idler pulley for dryer drum assembly. Maintains belt tension to enable smooth drum rotation. Replace if worn, cracked, or causing noise during operation.
The Dryer is 10 years old GE Front Load DPVH890JEMG. The drum would intermittently not rotate at the beginning of a cycle and occasionally would rotate but then start and stop throughout the cycle. I did not check error codes, but the windings on the motor were black. So it seemed reasonable that the motor was overheating and sending a signal to the control board to stop. There is one screw under the knob and 9 screws on the front to get inside. I decided to replace the bearings, capacitor,... Read more

Dryer not heating or blowing cold air? The heating element converts electrical energy to heat for drying. Most DIYers complete this repair in 45-60 minutes.
The heating element had a break in the heater coils, so I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I also replaced the thermal fusible link and thermostat switch because they were so cheap it just made sense to go ahead and do it while I was in there. I also cleaned every nook & cranny in the dryer, then cleaned out the vent piping- which was about 100% clogged. The video's of how to tear down a dryer were indispensable to this repair - along with APP's always having the right... Read more
Filters debris from water entering your washer and seals the hose connection. Replace if water fills slowly or screens are clogged. Confirm fit by model.
As a Mechanic, I did the common sense approach: INITIAL OBSERVATIONS & CHECKS: - Unplug Machine & check inlet water hose connections for leaks and signs of hose failure; - Remove back panel & inspect for water presence at all hose connections, pump, bottom of basket (bottom center of basket where the main motor, shaft bearing, and tub seal is located), dispensers, bottom of wash basket, water injector area, look everywhere where there is a hose connection and where water flows... - Inspect... The timer knob skirt is the decorative ring around your dryer's timer control. Replace if cracked, broken, or stripped, preventing proper cycle selection.
I research it online and found that my timer knob skirt was cracked, watched the video online to see how to fix it, ordered the part………it came within 2.5 days.
