This was a Maytag DE312 actually a Whirlpool labeled as Maytag) and is 27 years old. Replaced motor, drive belt and drum rollers. One tricky part was the motor because the new motor comes with integral starter and it was necessary to cut off existing female spade connectors on some wires and crimp on new connectors. Instructions were adequate but need to be carefully followed and a decent electrical stripping and crimping tool must be at hand. I bought a new motor drive pulley because another... Read more

I have order three parts, guide filter, cover guide, and sensor assembly. My previous cover guide was from two parts, when sensor assembly was one of them. New part ( guide cover ) was all in one piece so I just transfer old metal part of sensor to new cover guide and I don't need that sensor assembly anymore. I have ordered all three parts overnight by Fedex, ordered 15 min before 5pm, so next day it was here. Dryer is fixed, I'm happy. Read more

I researched the issue on You tube and found out it could be either the "belt broke switch" or the Moisture sensor. A friend who was an appliance mechanic advised "since you have to take it all apart anyways, its best to replace the belt, spring, and Idler wheel" I bought the 5 item for $52. I watched the video on the AppliancePartsPros for changing out the belt and I replace all items on the list. We couldn’t find a video for our model but they did give us a pretty good idea about what we needed to do.
