Realizing that there could be multiple reasons for a gas dryer failing to heat, I decided to test everything I could. The very detailed and product specific video showed me how to disassemble the dryer. I had to remove my dryer so I could install a new floor. The dryer would not fit through the doorway with the power cord attached. Since the power cord was fastened to the back using 3 phillip headed screws, I gently backed them out with a phillip headed screwdriver. However, two of the 3 screws gave me extreme trouble. • Timer will not advance

I ordered the timer and knob on Monday, they arrived around noon on Tuesday, and within an hour I had them installed and back in business. I was amazed how quickly the parts got here. The online video showing the procedure step by step was very helpful. Instead of disconnecting all the wires and having to keep up with which one went where, I moved each wire one by one and made sure I didn't get any of them in the wrong place. I had cleaned the lint out of the dryer exhaust hose, that was usually the problem. But still no heat. I went online to AppliancePpartPros and watched the videos and was able to diagnose that I needed a new ignitor. .The parts delivered very quickly and I had the job done in 15 minutes. Unfortunately my first repair attempt (replacing the Gas Valve Coils) failed so I decided to replace the entire Burner assembly. From a cost/time point of view the Burner assembly is a better value than just buying the Gas Valve seeing as you don't have to disassemble/reassemble most of the existing Burner (to get to the Gas Valve) *and* you get a new Igniter!! The most annoying thing about the repair is accessing the screw that clamps the gas pipe to loosen it :-(... Read more
