• Won't start

1) Ordered part. 2) Removed front panel by loosening the two screws at the bottom front. 3) Removed old Safety Switch/Lid Lock by disconnecting wires (plug and 2 female disconnects) 4) Reconnected all wires and reinstalled switch. 5) Replaced front panel. 6) Tested Unit. 7) FYI - I found that the locking mechanism stays locked until cycle completely finishes on its own. DO NOT force the cycle to end. Lid will NOT unlock. Read more

I replaced the idler pulley assembly, the bearing plastic and the drive belt. While disassembled I cleaned the interior of the cabinet and lubricated the drum bearings with silicone after cleaning everything thoroughly. The dryer is now quiet and hopefully stays that way. Read more

Unfortunately my first repair attempt (replacing the Gas Valve Coils) failed so I decided to replace the entire Burner assembly. From a cost/time point of view the Burner assembly is a better value than just buying the Gas Valve seeing as you don't have to disassemble/reassemble most of the existing Burner (to get to the Gas Valve) *and* you get a new Igniter!! The most annoying thing about the repair is accessing the screw that clamps the gas pipe to loosen it :-(... Read more

I replaced the drive belt using the video instructions on your web site. My dryer is in a stacked configuration, inverted with respect to your instructions with the motor above the drum instead of below it. During reassembly the drum got stuck when the pivot did not seat properly in its socket so the front couldn't be reassembled until I lifted the drum to reseat its pivot so the drum could move back into position allowing the front to be reassembled. I have a Bosch nexxt 500 series dryer that stopped heating. It was still running fine, just no heat. I did some research and found the Limiter as the possible problem. I pushed the red reset button. The dryer started heating up, but with in 1 cycle kicked off again. I called A.P.P. and spoke to Cecilia. She was very helpful. I have order three parts, guide filter, cover guide, and sensor assembly. My previous cover guide was from two parts, when sensor assembly was one of them. New part ( guide cover ) was all in one piece so I just transfer old metal part of sensor to new cover guide and I don't need that sensor assembly anymore. I have ordered all three parts overnight by Fedex, ordered 15 min before 5pm, so next day it was here. Dryer is fixed, I'm happy. Read more

I removed the kick panel/door and confirmed there was no flame. Inspection with a flashlight revealed the igniter was damage - partly broken away. Using a 1/4" socket set I removed the burner assembly. Inspection showed the burner was rusted and the flame deflector had fallen off. I ordered both the "Dryer Igniter and Bracket" and a burner. Replaced front drum roller wheels and rear drum bearing.Pull plug. Remove 2 screws holding top panel,slide rearward and lift panel off. Remove all screws from back panel,wiring cover and cord clamp. Remove back panel and feed cord through hole.No need to remove cord. Remove 2 screws from heater box and let it drop rearward.Remove belt from motor pulley and let tensioner rest against motor pulley.This step will trigger the switch that disables motor if belt breaks.The switch does not reset... I checked the continuity on the thermal fuse (which was blown) and knew that it needed to be replaced. This made me question why it blew (i.e. what caused it to fail). I checked continuity on the thermostat (high limit) as well as the thermostat for the element. Both passed a continuity test, so I removed the high limit thermostat to inspect it and could hear it rattling inside. I determined that it was a problem that occurred during the defrost cycle by resetting the GFCI outlet and forwarding the defrost timer until the defroster came on. Once the defrosting began, the GFCI outlet would reliably trip. I took apart the shielding inside of the freezer and tested the defrosting without the heating element or the thermostat connected.
