I turned off the power then removed the six or so screws from the back of the top panel. I marked the two front wires on the latch with tape so I would not get them confused. I removed the two screws holding the latch on--these take a six pointed star bit on the screw driver--the bit is in most screw driver sets with interchangeable heads. I then connected the wires to the new latach and put everything back together. The whole process took between ten and fifteen minutes. Read more

I went to appliancepartspro.com and found out that the problem could be the main circuit board. I went on and ordered the part, knowing it could be returned if necessary, but it was like music to my ears when I installed the part, myself, and turned the power back on. Easy. Found the end of the right-side Door Spring that connects to the Door Cable broke off and the plastic end of the Door Cable that connects to the Door Spring was also broken off. Ordered a replacement Door Spring 154579101 and Door Cable 154578801 from AppliancePartsPros.com When the parts arrived a few days later, I watched the video on the AppliancePartsPros. After searching for hours online, I finally found a you tube video called: Diagnose & Repair a Bad Latch on a Frigidaire Dishwasher (GLD2250RDC4) . His explanation and directions were sooo easy and it worked! So I didn't have to call a repairman or buy a new control panel and the part cost $30.00, Easy! Read more

The part just snaps on the basket. You have to remove the clips on the end of the runner arms to be able to remove the basket. Once it was out the old arm snap off and you snap on the new arm. Only problem was my old arm was fine and I wished the company would just sell the gasket. It seems a waste to have to purchase the whole arm. I had an appliance repair guy come and he told me it was possibly the vent assembly but if changing it didn't fix the problem it would be the control board next. He felt it was not worth the money to repair because he would have to disconnect everything just to get to the vent on the right rear top of the dishwasher. I very seldom respond to requests for feedback like this but definitely feel moved to do so in this case. When our 8 year old dishwasher started acting up my initial reaction was to simply replace it. Took cover completely off and tried putting back, could not match up left screw with available screw hole. Tried many different configurations and sequences to make this happen. watched a video on changing the front panel, the door in it had four screws, mine 2, no help there. Searched on the hyperextending issue, found an article about dogs and kids [had both here] climbing on the door and to check the springs and linkages.
