The gasket is fairly straightforward: it's just a press-fit right in to the channel. What you need to know is that you need to stretch the gasket material lengthwise prior to installation; if you don't it will be too short. I have a Kenmore dishwasher and this is the second time doing this repair. The dishwasher door wouldn’t click in place when closed and the lights on the control panel wouldn’t turn on. My kids like to push on the handle to get onto the counter causing the latch assembly piece to break after awhile. It’s a simple fix with the hardest part being getting the front panel lined back up to put back on. I ended up not needing the strike piece but got it just in case it had been bent. Read more
