My Frigidaire side by side refrigerator/freezer suffered a catastrophic failure. My co-worker bought a house to flip and gave me the refrigerator. I'd been looking for a garage refrigerator to store water, cola, etc in. Fridge was essentially fine but I sanded and painted one side which had rust spots. Turned out like new. The door seal was moldy and didn't seal properly. The only advice I can lend is to take the door off the hinges and lay it down flat. So much easier. With this seal you basically just take out all the screws, peel off old seal and set the new one... Freezer won't cool or compressor won't start? The start device provides the electrical boost to start your compressor. Direct plug-in replacement.
Noticed Rolls on the top shelf no longer frozen, though the meat around it still was. Note: This is a good test, keep something that thaws quickly and is not expensive on top shelf, to act as a barometer for your freezer health! I first found a trip online to advance the defrost timer, as a failed timer is a common issue. I advanced the timer, but nothing happened. I emptied the freezer, then removed the thermostat and tested it. No continuity! With the Freezer continuing to thaw, I... Read more

Ice won't crush or dispenses poorly? A worn drive blade often causes ice crusher problems. This blade crushes and pushes ice through the dispenser chute.
Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. I recommend if you gave a problem with the ice dispenser you break down and inspect the entire... Read more
Replacement glass shelf for refrigerator compartments. Installs on shelf frame to hold food and beverages. Replace if cracked, shattered, or broken.
Repair took 20 minutes - 1 minute to set the new, non-broken shelf in place, and then 19 minutes teasing my spouse about the fragility of glass and multiple repetitions of the phrase "This is why we can't have nice things!" Probably worthwhile to program in 10 additional minutes to allow you to apologize to your spouse for ridiculing them for an honest mistake:) Read more

My frig is a year and a half old, Frigidaire with french doors and freezer drawer. It has an upper ice maker for the door in the frig and a bottom ice maker in the freezer drawer. After noticing the flood, I shut off the water supply to the frig and cleaned up the mess. Didn't know if it was the water solenoid valve that stuck open or if the bottom ice maker got stuck calling for water. This frig has 4 solenoid valves and according to the schematic, two valves are active any time water is... Read more
