If your gas burner won't light or keeps clicking after ignition, the igniter switch may be faulty. This switch closes when you turn the knob to spark.
Ordered an igniter switch for $21.95. (the left front handle was turned the wrong although clearly marked: Off, Lite, X-high, high, med, low, simmer. Guess some folks cannot read and deduce.) When we returned from out of town to relieve the sitting family members I noticed the left front burner handle was sitting at 11 o'clock instead of true OFF at 12, straight up and down. When I would correct the position the ignitor would begin until I once again would back it up until the light would go... Read more

Distributes power to control and heating circuits. Replace when board is damaged, failed, or non-responsive. Installs at bottom of cooktop unit.
I repaired the problem by replacing the Power Board assembly and the daughter relay board. Not sure which one was the problem. Since I had it apart I replaced both. So far the unit is working like new. Everything was plug in, so I didn't have to worry about complex wiring. I took pictures prior to disassembly to make sure I got the reassembly right. Worth the effort to fix it- very satisfying. Read more

Burner head sits on top of the burner base on gas cooktops. Replace if warped, cracked, or causing uneven flame distribution across the burner surface.
I examined the inner burner heads and determined that two of the most frequently used burners were warped and were not making good contact with the burner base. It's a GE Profile series stove about 10 -12 years old. I checked the GE Parts website, and they wanted almost $100 for the large burner head but didn't even have the small one at all, saying it was no longer available. By Googling the parts numbers, I found Appliance Part Pros, and they had both burner heads available. They were still a... Read more

My 1984 GE Electric Stove model number was very close to an another entry, but not actually in appliance repair pros' model numbers list. But my burners looked and measured the same for the near entry number, and the surface unit control switch looked very similar. I decided to take a chance and ordered 2 of each.. (Actually I wouldn't have needed new burners but an earlier "repair guy" took 2 of my burners and never returned - and no one could find him!) It turned out the new burners fit... Read more

This is a large burner bowl replacement that can work with many models of stoves and ranges. Another term for these bowls is drip pan. The purpose of the drip pans is to protect the inner workings of the stove. They catch spills and drips when cooking. The stove shouldn't be used if the drip pans are damaged or missing. The main reason that the burner bowl might need to be replaced is that it has become dirty and can't be easily cleaned. Additionally, there is the chance that the burner bowls could eventually start to rust. This is a simple repair and should take only a few minutes. Be sure to unplug the stove or turn off the gas before starting a repair. The large burner bowl is for use with certain models of range from Whirlpool, General Electric, Kenmore, and Hotpoint. It is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced from the manufacturer. It is sold individually.
