Burner won't heat or heats unevenly? This 6 inch radiant element restores consistent cooking performance. Typical DIY repair takes 30-45 minutes.
This repair was on a GE glass Cooktop range. This range has two indicator lights, a Burner On light, and a Hot Cooktop Light. The problem I was having was, the Hot Cooktop stayed on all the time (24x7), even when the cooktop surface had been off for hours and was cold. YouTubes that I viewed were all misleading on this symptom. They all pointed to the switch, which is the fix for the Burner Light staying on, not the Hot Cooktop Light staying on. I figured it out by going to the schematic.... Read more
Replace a non-heating or broken 6-inch cooktop burner element. This plug-in surface element fixes uneven heating. DIY-friendly, 30-minute repair.
Going on line and viewing your website, you provided a very easy way to get me to a picture that was exactly what I wanted with the exact (old style) connections. I had previously gone to Home Depot twice, and I still did not get the correct burner that I needed. Your website was great, I should have gone there first. I used the part that I received from AppliancePartsPROS.com and replaced the defective, old and non-working surface element. It was easy, I used a screw driver to snap off a... Read more

Set aside in a safe place. Remove old, burned-out, element by removing the single lock tab, located on one of the three mounting posts, then lift up. Leave the wiring attached. Fix a burner that won't heat with this 8-inch range surface element. Direct replacement for 3-wire cooktop heating coils. Moderate DIY, 30-40 min install.
Ordering the right part is the key. This is the element with 3 wire connectors NOT the usual kind with 2 prongs that slide in. Thank goodness this company carries these elements for old GE built-in stoves. I'm not super handy but replaced two in about 40 min. Make sure you save the old ceramic clamps. The three prongs of the element with connected wires need to fit completely in the ceramic grooves so the two sides can be clamped together. The new element comes with everything you need but... Oven not heating or reaching temperature? This bake heating element distributes even heat for proper baking. DIY-friendly repair with basic tools.
Easy fix. Both elements replaced while I was at it, so all new. Figured if one went the other was going to follow. CIRCUIT BREAKER OFF. Removed the back metal panel with my nut driver for the hex head screws. Note where the panel may slip under tabs for support. Remove slip on electrical connections on upper and lower elements. May need a pliers. (I did not want to just pull the element and the wires into the oven with the element and remove them there, like a technician would do. After 15... Read more

Fix a burner that won't heat with this 6-inch surface element. Plugs directly into your range's burner receptacle. DIY-friendly, 15-minute install.
Removed the defective burner labeled the leads as to their location and coil connections. Replaced the connections to the corresponding locations, 1 to 1, 2 to 2 and the bridged terminal as it was. I noticed that the coils in the replacement burner were not wound in the same direction as the original burner and made note of this. I did not think much of this at the time, but on turning the power back on and lighting up the burners I noticed up they were not lighting up the corresponding... Read more

With the help of Wendee and Karen, we finally figured out my model numbers and which parts where correct. I ordered the parts and all arrived the next day except for the Broiler element which arrived in 2 days. I installed the new Baking Element myself. Took longer to figure out which curcuit braker to turn off. In about 30 minutes I had a brand new Baking Element in my oven working perfectly. On the following day, I installed the Broiler Element. That took a bit longer as it sits in a metal... Read more

Oven won't heat or takes too long to preheat? A failed lower bake element is the most common cause. Straightforward DIY repair in under 30 minutes.
In the middle of Christmas baking, I noticed that it was taking a really long time to bake bread. Since I had already done 5 batches and the timing was always the same, I knew when I had to add 20 min, something was wrong. My oven thermometer (I bought at target) no longer worked so it was hard to tell the exact temperature. First, I went and bought a new thermometer to see the actual temp, then I set the oven to 350 degrees and checked to see what the thermometer was showing. It was almost 50... Read more
Oven not heating or baking unevenly? The bake element generates heat for baking. Simple plug-and-play repair takes 30-60 minutes with basic tools.
When the element on our 15 year old builder grade oven went out we were worried it was time to spend thousands on a new oven. Instead, we found the replacement part on appliancepartspros.com and decided to give replacing it a shot, after all it was $80 instead of $1600. We weren't entirely sure the replacement was the right part because our oven model had an extra "0", but given it came up when I searched for the oven model (if not on the compatability checker) and the refund guarantee we... Replace a worn or broken cooktop surface element that won't heat. Direct plug-in installation takes minutes. Fits various GE electric ranges.
My 1984 GE Electric Stove model number was very close to an another entry, but not actually in appliance repair pros' model numbers list. But my burners looked and measured the same for the near entry number, and the surface unit control switch looked very similar. I decided to take a chance and ordered 2 of each.. (Actually I wouldn't have needed new burners but an earlier "repair guy" took 2 of my burners and never returned - and no one could find him!) It turned out the new burners fit... Read more
Oven slow to heat or not heating at all? This hidden bake element delivers consistent bottom heat for proper baking. Moderate DIY, about 1 hour.
I called GE and they sent a tech out. $89 service call. Had I REALLY inspected the oven the hidden element had blown and separated and part of it welded itself to the inside of it's compartment. GE wanted another $350 to come back and fix it. I bought the part here for around $55 and had it running again in about an hour! Read more
