This is an OEM primer hose assembly replacement sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used on various outdoor lawn and garden small engines. The primer hose is inserted into the fuel tank. This hose then connects to a bulb that forces the fuel to the carburetor to start the engine. Excess fuel is forced back into the fuel line. Normal wear and tear can cause the line and primer bulb to become brittle and crack, making it unable to move fuel into the carburetor.A Phillips screwdriver, long-nosed pliers, standard screwdriver, and a pan to drain the fuel are necessary to remove and replace the primer hose assembly. This project can be complete in less than half an hour. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank and fuel lines before starting the project. Remove the rear cover and take the carburetor and fuel lines off the engine. Install the primer hose and primer bulb. Reinstall the parts and fill the fuel tank. Pump the primer bulb to make sure it is installed correctly.This primer hose assembly is made of plastic and rubber and is sold as an individual kit. When the primer bulb is pressed, it moves all of the air located inside of the carburetor so that the chambers can be filled with fuel. Any excess fuel will then be forced back to the tank using the return pipe. After time and use, the return pipe can start to crack and become brittle and will need to be replaced.If the return pipe is no longer working correctly, a new replacement part will need to be installed. First, drain the gas from the tool and disconnect the spark plug wire. The fuel lines and fuel tank should then be taken off of the carburetor. Remove the fuel line, vent, and check valve.
