1st. replaced thermostat probe inside wall oven - no change. Then removed range heating element and measured it with ohm meter for continuity and found it to be OPEN. Ordered replacement range heating element; measured it before install and found it to be a few ohms - installed in less than 5 minutes and tested. ALL WORKS GREAT. Range has no model ID plate anywhere. Flip off electric at circuit breaker box. Opened top of range and noted details of the faulty burner, including confirm that outer coil was fried. Removed 2 sheet metal screw pulled element out about 2 inches. Removed two Spade connections. Removed the element from the oven. Inserted the new element into the over, connected the two spade connector. Reinstalled the two sheet metal screws. Set the oven to bake for testing and tested until the element turned red. It was a simple process to enter the model number of our glass cook top stove; learn the part number required and order. It arrived in 2-days -- least expensive shipping method. The cooktop was removed with a Phillips-head screwdriver by 4 small sheet metal screws on the right and left side of the oven. The oven's power to the cooktop was easily disconnected via two "clips" and one ground. Would have cost way more with an appliance repair shop and it's an easy do-it-yourself repair. Read more
